I had a chance to create a card for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2017 and I’m so excited to share it with you! Truthfully, I thought about this Merry Café stamp set (and coordinating dies) as soon as the hop went live.
I let the dies do a lot of the work here and simply rolled out the coffee cup with my Big Shot. I stamped the little berry images on the cup and added a fun red sleeve out of some designer paper. I stamped the little sentiment and created a tag for the cup to tie on with some Linen Thread.
I used the wood grain print from Coffee Break DSP and the tree print from Be Merry DSP. These two sets are totally meant to work together which makes creating so easy. And this is the perfect holiday card for any coffee loving friend.
Super quick post today. Just wanted to pop in with this fun little extra. I’ll be back later this week with a couple more projects. Until then, have a great day! And don’t forget to hop over to the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. There is so much inspiration and a chance to win stuff too! See you soon.

The hardest part of designing for this hop was narrowing down my choices! This year’s holiday stamps and dies from Newton’s Nook Designs have been just over the top great. But I kind of had to go “classic” so I pulled out Santa Paws Newton. I love this set! I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and then colored Newton and his friends with my Winsor and Newton watercolor paints. Once everything was dry, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to Santa Newton’s list for some extra shine. Which brought me to choosing a sentiment. How could I resist this one from Sentiments of the Season?? I added a layer of gold washi tape and some gold sequins to add even more shimmer. Oh what fun!Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Special!

Welcome to day 1 of the November Release from Newton’s Nook Designs. We have such fun products to show you this week and we are starting today with lots to share. Two stamp sets and two new stand alone die sets….wow!
Our first set I’m showing you is called Cup of Cocoa! ** Warning: Triggers uncontrollable tendencies to run to the kitchen and make some cocoa immediately!! ** I used the Color Theory paper from Stampin’ Up and the Snowfall Stencil from Newton’ Nook as an embossing folder. This is a great way to stretch your stencils and add fun details to a background. I colored this adorable cup from the set to match the ombré paper. Fun, right?! The new Frames & Flags Dies create quick banners that layer wonderfully and all I had to do was add a sentiment from the stamp set.
For my second card, I get to show you Frozen Fellowship. This is perfect for holiday cards but it continues to work into the rest of winter too! The minute I saw this set, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I loved the idea of choosing one of the snowmen to stand out as unique and the used this fabulous sentiment. Using my Zig Clean Color Markers, I colored all the snowmen in shade of gray. Then chose this funny little guy at the bottom for full color (I confess that choosing which snowman to have color was the hard part, haha). I used the new Frames & Flags Dies again here and you can see how awesome they are to create layers.
Yes, indeed, this is another amazing day 1. And I did tell you there are two new stand alone dies. The other one (which I will use later this week) is called the Fancy Edges Tag Die set and you are going to love it! You can see all the features in the graphic below. Now on to everyone’s favorite part of release week. A chance to win!!

So you know when you are stuck for stamping mojo and you need to pull out an old favorite?? Yeah…that was me for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Not really sure why I struggled since this sketch is fabulous, but some days are like that. The lovely Jennifer Brum gave us one that can be used in so many variations. And oh, did I note a circle?? Jen is notoriously intimidated by circles so a big shout out for her crafty courage! (Love ya’, Jen!!)
Do you remember this stamp set from Stampin’ Up? It is called Snow Much Fun and I love the little snowmen in the set. I chose this fellow and did some quick coloring with Zig Clean Color Pens. I did hand draw in the line for his hill so that he wasn’t standing in space. I was super happy to have some coloring time and then realized that my sentiment just wasn’t going to fit on a circle. Sigh. Well, I’m going with the “any shape” concept on the sketch and added it on a rectangle instead. I chose a print from the Be Merry DSP (main catty, SU).
Tomorrow I get to be a part of a super fun month long event by Tracey McNeely, her 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017. See you then!

Happy Wednesday!! We have a fabulous new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches. The incredible Kim Singdahlsen is our sketch hostess this week and you are just going to fall in love!
It seems that traditional colors are the way I’m leaning this year on my Christmas cards. I remain obsessed with this Be Merry DSP from Stampin’ Up and I added on this speckled woodgrain print from Coffee Break DSP (also SU). I think the prints work really well together! I kept this pretty simple and used one of my go-to Christmas sentiments from the Be Merry Stamp Set by WPlus9. The little flower and holly leaves are from the same set and I did some quick Copic coloring. The sentiment is from the Be Merry Stamp Set from WPlus9 and it is one of my favorites again this year. It is stamped in Early Espresso ink to match the woodgrain paper. To create all the rectangles, I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies by Simon Says Stamp.
I’m trying to get a little more serious about my holiday cards so I think you can expect to see more of those in the upcoming weeks. Make sure you stop over to say hi to the team at Freshly Made Sketches. They have created wonderful projects this week! Thanks for stopping in today. See you soon.

Happy day 3 of the Holiday Release from Newton’s Nook Designs. And yes, it is also Freshly Made Sketches day. So I combined two of my favorite things into one post! This holiday release from Newton’s Nook is going to continue to amazing you as, yet again, we have TWO stamps to share with you.
I am going to start with the Stylish Stockings Stamp Set and the coordinating dies since I used it with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week. I love the sweet designs on these little stockings and the adorable stitched details for them. I stamped them using Altenew’s Ruby Red ink and just look at how those tiny details show perfectly. All I had to do was stamp the sentiment on a stitched circle and add some festive patterned paper. Stamps like this make your holiday cards easy to reproduce and such fun to make!
Next up is Reindeer Roll Call. What an awesome idea this stamp is!! As soon as I saw it, I thought chalk board card so I just had to give it a try. I stamped using Versamark ink on a textured black card stock and then heat embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. I added the little snowflakes and one of the reindeer from the stamp set to accent the names and embossed them too. I cut the panel out with a cross-stitched rectangle die and added a few rhinestones that I colored with a red Copic marker. To give it that chalk board look, I tapped on a little bit of white craft ink with a sponge. Then, I cut out some Corrugated Kraft card stock using a cross-stitched rectangle and added this great 7/8″ Striped Ribbon from Stampin’ Up as an accent. You’ll notice a theme with these card today….makable! Because when it comes to holiday cards, I generally like the make a few of each style!
I just know you are going to love the projects from the entire Newton’s Nook team today and don’t forget to take a look at all the inspiration at Freshly Made Sketches too! Of course, the post isn’t complete without a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping in today and during this whole week. Tomorrow is the last day of this release and I feel safe in saying you are going to be thrilled by the products! Stamps: Stylish Stockings (Newton’s Nook Designs), Reindeer Roll Call (Newton’s Nook Designs); Ink: Versamark, Ruby Red (Altenew); Paper: Thick Whisper White (SU), Be Merry DSP (SU), Textured Black (SU ret), Corrugated Kraft (SU ret); Accessories: Big Shot, Stylish Stockings Dies (Newton’s Nook Designs), Large Cross Stitched Rectangles Dies (Lawn Fawn), Heat Tool, Bright White Opaque Embossing Powder (WOW!), Basic Rhinestones (SU), 7/8″ Striped Ribbon (SU), Button (SU ret), White Baker’s Twine
I am so happy to be able to share another great sketch with you today! The amazing Rita Wright is our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches and she has one that will be fun for lots of interpretations. Rita always has the most incredible coloring and that inspired me to pull out my Copics for today.
I love this Poinsettia stamp from Simon Says Stamp and I wanted to try to make it a white version. (Red would have been pretty for this card too.) Coloring white is always hard so I played around to see if I could do it. On the flower I started with my light Toner Gray markers (T0, T2). While I liked the look, I decided that I needed a little more color to make the flower look realistic. So I added in a little bit of G20. I think over all it turned out pretty. The leaves from the set set were colored with a combination of green markers (G20, G24, YG61, YG17, YG67). To add just a little more color to the card, I used this pretty Be Merry DSP from Stampin’ Up. Love those speckles on the paper! The sentiment and banner are from the Be Merry Stamp Set and Dies from WPlus9. Finally, I thought I needed a little “something”, so I added some pearls to mimic the patten on the paper.
I have been busily stamping this week and getting ready to a new release from Newton’s Nook Designs. You can expect lots of fun next week! Until then, I hope you have a good week. See you soon!
