I chose the Love You S’more stamp set since it has this adorable coffee image and I do love the sentiment from the same set. I used the stripes from the Birthday Bash papers and added a bit of texture with the Quilted A2 Cover Plate (that I just cut down a bit).
I hope you like this fun card! Today is the last day of the Coffee Lovers Hop and make sure you go over to see all the inspiration there! And for all who have been patient with me being gone over the last weeks, here is a photo of my final sign off flight to be a Captain on the Airbus!
Have you noticed a distinct theme to all the cards around on social media this week? Yes, indeed, it is Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop time! You have to go check out all the amazing coffee themed cards. It is seriously awesome! I could not bear to miss out so I thought I’d use this week’s new Freshly Made Sketches challenge to create a card for the hop. The oh-so-talented Cécile is our sketch designer this week and her sketch is unique and fabulous (just like her).
Because you are supposed to stick to a spring/summer theme, I opted to use bright happy colors for my clean cards. I used the cup from Coffee Understands (Picket Fence Studios) and stamped it three times. I colored each cup using Copic color families (they are listed below) and then cut them out by hand. After some debate on what to put behind them, I had an a-ha moment when looking through my stencils. I pulled out the Down to the Last Drop Stencil (Picket Fence Studios) and used it as an embossing folder. Now this was a test of sorts. You see, I just got a brand new Crafter’s Companion Gemini Jr. and I wanted to see how it would emboss. It came with the embossing mat and it worked perfectly with my stencil. To finish with the sketch, I thought a coffee sentiment would be good. I chose Cup of Thanks (Studio Katia) with the coordinating die and sentiment.
I’m off to get this entered over with the Coffee Lovers! Make sure you join in and you’ll get an opportunity to win prizes from their sponsors (so many awesome sponsors!!). Hope to see you in the Freshly Made Sketches gallery too! Thanks for stopping in today. See you soon!
Happy National Coffee Day!! If ever there was something worth celebrating, it is definitely coffee! I am thrilled to be part of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers hop today. So many Super Sponsors! So many prizes!!
The hop starts over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers’ blog. You should have come to me via the amazing Wendy McGaffey. I have all the links later in my post if you get lost along the way.
I decided I should pull out the adorable Cup of Cocoa set from Newton’s Nook Designs today. It so happens that Newton’s Nook Designs is one of the Super Sponsors today and I will be giving away $25 Store Credit to shop with them! Make sure to comment here and around the hop for chances to win. Also, the Newton’s Nook Designs team is doing a hop too with another chance to win.
I colored these fun cups with my Copic Markers and then created a shaker card with the Storybook Dies. The sequins from Picket Fence Studios were perfect to match the cups. I think the sentiment from the stamp set is fantastic for today’s hop theme!! Lots of cups of cheer all around blogland!!
I’m so happy that Newton’s Nook Designs allowed me to feature their prize! Make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to win! Now on to the rest of the hop. Next up is Maria Peters over on Instagram.

I’m thrilled to be sharing one more card as the Guest Designer for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers today. I’m back using Picket Fence Studios products and I hope you enjoy this.
I’m pretty much in love with the sweet owls and this BFF Owl is super fun to color. I went a little out of the box on her palette and used the new Color Box Dyestress Inks by Clearsnap. They have some beautiful shades and they are great for easy watercoloring and blending. I stamped the owl in Versafine Onyx Black and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Once she was colored I used the new Circle Stencil from Picket Fence Studios and the Life Changing Blender Brushes to create her spotlight.
You can see that there are seriously no lines from the blending. And the brushes come in big and little sizes so you can use them for all your stencils. The really are life changing when it comes to simplifying your blending. For the sentiment, I used another set from Picket Fence Studios (soon to arrive in the store) called Ways to Say Congrats. This one is perfect for all us coffee fans, don’t you think?
I had so much fun joining in on the Coffee Loving fun this month that I’ll be a part of their hop celebrating National Coffee Day!!! A whole day to celebrate coffee…I’m all in!! And I’m lucky enough to be one of the hop participants with a sponsored prize. You won’t want to miss it!! Come back tomorrow for all the fun. Until then, thanks for stopping in today.
Wishing you a happy Saturday! For “spring”, it certainly has not been very bright or warm yet here in Virginia so I thought I should just create a little of my own spring sunshine. I think this Banner in Bloom stamp set from Reverse Confetti does that perfectly, don’t you?! I wanted the banner to go with this pretty yellow (Lemon Chiffon from Simon Says Stamp…it is a current favorite for sure!). I stamped in Momento ink and then used Copics to color two of the images from the set. They layer up so nicely!!
To add a little more interest, I used the Striped Frame Cover Panel and popped up the center layer to allow for more of the yellow to peek out. So pretty!! I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh) for just a little more shine on the card.
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week is a celebration of their 9th Birthday! So, naturally they are having a birthday theme. I thought this would be a fun way to help them celebrate (and add to my birthday card stash too!). Hope the weekend is full of sunshine (either for real or in your craft room). See you soon!
Did you know that yesterday was National Cocoa Day?? I mean seriously, who can NOT be excited about a day devoted to cocoa?! So of course I needed to have some hot cocoa and today I get to share a card that is all about sharing it with those you love. I created this for my December post over at the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog.
The little cups from the Cup of Cocoa stamp set are just so cute and I love all the variations. I chose two that seemed to work well together and colored them to match. Then I chose the little heart from the same set. All of them were colored with Copic markers and then cut using the coordinating dies. While a number of the sentiments from Cup of Cocoa would work nicely here, I thought this one from Love & Chocolate was just perfect for my sweet little pairing. I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black and then cut out the oval with stitched dies. The cups and heart are popped up using Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals (those minis are really the BEST). I added a little extra texture in the background with my Softly Falling embossing folder (and it helps keep it wintery). Because hey, there is still time to enter the 2017 Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
Newton’s Nook Designs is one of the Super Sponsors for the Coffee Lovers Hop so make sure you go check out all the inspiration and enter for a chance to win!! I’m also linking this in to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Stitch It.
I hope you like this card! Don’t forget to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs blog for daily inspiration!! Thanks so much for visiting today. Hope you have a great day….and it isn’t too late to get that cocoa!
Stamp: Cup of Cocoa (Newton’s Nook Designs), Love & Chocolate (Newton’s Nook Designs); Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black, Copic Markers; Paper: Thick Whisper White (SU); Accessories: Big Shot, Cup of Cocoa Dies (Newton’s Nook Designs), Stitched Shaped Dies (SU), Softly Falling Embossing Folder (SU), Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals, Misti
I’m sure you have already seen the gazillions of coffee cards across blog land this week and I could not resist adding one more! It is the week for the 2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I just had to combine the coffee theme with this week’s new challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. The lovely queen of color, Amy O’Neill, is our sketch designer this week and I love this classic look.
I started with the new Coffee Break DSP from Stampin’ Up and pretty much let the paper do all the work. The French Press and the cup…straight from the paper (just fussy cut and off you go). And check out that coffee bean paper!!! I was in a huge hurry to create this but just could not let the hop and great sketch go by without playing along. I only stamped this fun sentiment from Skipping Stones Designs and put the card together. I added a few sequins from an old Paper Pumpkin set to give it a little bling and still keep it on the masculine side. I thought the colors lent themselves to that and I always seem a little short on “man cards”.
So I have been stamping a ton with a lot to share in the upcoming weeks. And also, flying lots and lots. Summer is always the busy time for us airline folks! I love having all the summer people on the planes. There is a great energy and excitement for vacations. I particularly love when the kids visit us in the front!! So I apologize for some of my absences. I am, however, super excited about the Fancy Friday hop we have coming up this week. I hope you’ll join us.
For now, hop on over to Freshly Made Sketches and see all the amazing work from the design team this week. You’ll be happy you did. Have a great day!
Supplies:
Stamp: Funny Coffee (Skipping Stones Designs); Paper: Coffee Break DSP (SU), Thick Whisper White (SU), Old Olive; Ink: Early Espresso; Accessories: Bronze Sequins (Paper Pumpkin by SU)
The Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop is well underway and what fun it is! I was happy to get a little time to join in this time because I’m always so inspired by the lovely work in the hop. It was also a good time to make sure I’m still coloring for The 30 Day Coloring Challenge this month.
I was thrilled to see this free download set from JessicaLynn Original that was created just for the blog hop. I don’t use digital stamps very often but this one was so pretty I just had to! The nice part is that you can size the image to your taste. I printed it onto X-Press It Blending Card so I could color it with my Copics. I took a Copic Coloring Class about a week ago (Copic Flowers with Lori Craig) and tried to apply some of what I learned with her. This image was super fun to use!
Just a quick post today. Back in the craft room working on some projects for later this week. I hope you have an amazing day. Don’t forget to go over to the blog hop to see all the talented stampers who have joined in! See you soon!

Welcome back to a new year of challenges from The Card Concept. I am so happy to share the first one with you! The inspiration piece is really pretty!
I was inspired by the gold and the flowers in the background plus the sentiment on the note. I was lucky enough to receive this beautiful stamp set from Santa. It is called Hello Lovely by Concord & 9th. I stamped in Versamark and embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I did the same with the sentiment. I added just a touch of color with my Zig markers to mimic the pink in the flowers. All I added was a few gold sequins to finish. I chose the Clean and Graphic style for this week.
I hope you will join us for this one. I’m sure you will see something in our inspiration that you love! This is my second post of the day so don’t forget to check out the latest from Freshly Made Sketches too. Thanks for stopping in. See you soon!
Today is a two post Wednesday and this is my first card for the day. I’m so excited to share the inspiration from The Card Concept for our latest challenge. As I was looking at the beautiful details of that fireplace, I found that the colors and the patterns started to jump out at me and so an idea was born.
I think this flower from Poinsettia (Simon Says Stamp) is simply wonderful to color. I used it with Copics last week but decided to try it with Zig Clean Color Markers for this challenge. I thought the watercolor feel was more in line with the country vibe of the photo. I stamped the flower using Versafine Onyx Black and then masked it to add the leaf. The paper is Fabriano Watercolor Paper. The sentiments from the same stamp set worked perfectly for this so I inked up this combination with Versafine again and used my Misti to make sure my stamping was right. I always use my Misti when I have colored the image (because…well, you know why). I used the Wonky Stitched Rectangles Dies to add a bit more detail when I cut the image panel down to size. Now for the background. I created a card base using this great pattern from Under the Tree DSP (SU ret). Yep, the whole card base. Because the other side (now the inside) is a Kraft pattern with little stars. I love the result!! Finally, I pulled some sequins out and started to mix and match. These happen to all be from Paper Pumpkin kits.
Make sure you check my second post for Freshly Made Sketches too. I am still recovering from our Thanksgiving adventures but the fun was worth all the traveling. Hope you have a great week! See you soon!
