FMS249 - Floral ThanksI know you are going to be super happy when you see the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Ok…I know…every week….but this one is awesome!  The incredibly talented and oh so sweet Kim Singdahlsen has a classic for us.  As usual, our team has turn a classic into fresh inspiration!

I have already told you how much I love the Detailed Florals Thinlits and the Floral Phrases stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  But I have neglected to show you the absolutely gorgeous Floral Boutique DSP.  So I picked a print (and honestly, almost any print from the pack would work….they are ALL amazing).  Once I had it cut for the sketch, the card was almost done.  Seriously!  The sentiment from the coordinating stamp set seemed tailor made for the sketch.  I layered some Night of Navy DSP under the sentiment to help it pop.  And then some pearls.  I thought the pearls were an elegant touch to match the recipient of this card, a dear friend.  I added the three but then went a little nuts and added some of the tiny ones on random flower center on the DSP.  You can click the photo to see a better closeup.

FMS Final 249-001Ok, well, I’m flying this week so it will be a few days until my next post.  Hoping to fit in some stamping when I get home though.  So glad you stopped by today.  See you soon!!

O Christmas Tree in Gold and Silver

O Christmas Tree in Gold and Silver published on 1 Comment on O Christmas Tree in Gold and Silver

DTGT16jentimko - O Christmas TreeThe most wonderful week of inspiration continues today over at Splitcoaststampers!!!  It is Dare To Get Dirty Challenges week and you will not even believe all that SCS has already done!  As a former “Dirty Girl”, I get to participate on the planning side and today is the day for my challenge!!  How do you get to see all this fabulousness??  You simply have to be a Fan Club Member at Splitcoaststampers.  Not only can you see all the details of the challenges, you can participate with present and past Dirty Girls.  My sample makers have created the most awesome inspiration.  I hope you will come check it out!  You can see all the cards for my challenge HERE.

I can’t share the details of the challenge but I think you will not be too surprised by my choice of challenge!  As I was making cards, I was actually inspired to make two variations.  Gold and Silver!  They used the new set from Concord and 9th called O Christmas Tree.  I am totally in love with the sentiments and the great trees!  As an extra bonus, Concord and 9th is celebrating their first birthday so I wanted to join in on their party!  I heat embossed the trees on Thick Whisper White card stock (in gold and silver) to put as the base of my shaker cards. For the gold version, I used Pop of Pink DSP’s gold confetti pattern and cut it using the Stitched Rectangle Dies (SSS).  The silver version uses a retired DSP.  I added sequins based on the color of embossing.  The gold is from SU’s Metallic Sequins and a retired holiday pack while the silver are the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.  Now for that bit of sparkle on the sides.  Remember back during Sale-a-bration when the Glitter Tape was one of the choices?  Yeah.  I HAD to have that and I got it with the holidays in mind.  It is so easy to use and it adds so much!!  I heat embossed the sentiments again and done!  Now…..which is your favorite??!!  My house is split on their decision (which is why I posted both). The challenges this week really are amazing and your need to come check out the gallery!!  I hope you will go over and check out my challenge and join in!!  Thanks so much for stopping in today.  See you soon!

DTGD16scrapawayg3 - Beautiful GoldThe most wonderful week of inspiration continues today over at Splitcoaststampers!!!  It is Dare To Get Dirty Challenges week and you will not even believe all that SCS has already done!  As a former “Dirty Girl”, I get to participate on the planning side and will even be hosting my own challenge tomorrow.  How do you get to see all this fabulousness??  You simply have to be a Fan Club Member at Splitcoaststampers.  Not only can you see all the details of the challenges, you can participate with present and past Dirty Girls.  And trust me….I have seen the challenges!  You will want to play!

My card today is a sample for Gayatri’s Challenge (DTGD16scrapawayg3).  I can’t share the details of the challenge but you really need to see the inspiration for this card!  I stamped the first layer of this pretty flower in Ruby Red ink from Altenew.  Such a pretty red!!  Then I stamped the second layer in Versamark so that I could heat emboss it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  The sentiment on the frame is also stamped with Versamark and embossed in gold.  I had originally planned to add more sequins or thread or something but I like the elegant simplicity of this and chose to leave it just like this.  The challenges this week really are amazing and your need to come check out the gallery!!  Don’t forget to check back tomorrow to see more about my challenge!  I hope you will join in the fun!!

Freshly Made Sketches #248

FMS248 - Flourishing HelloSo another summer week has flown by and I’m back with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches!  My clever friend Linda Callahan has come up with a super sketch for us this week.  Thank goodness….because I didn’t have much time to stamp!

I took her quite literally and kept my card even cleaner than usual (and that is saying a lot).  But as I started putting together the elements, I thought that white space was the perfect way to show off this amazing little leaf and beautiful flower die.  It is easy to lose the details of these kinds of things sometimes and they are worth showing off!  I bet when you looked at the Flourishing Phrases stamp set you were so caught up in the great sentiments that you kind of skipped over this leaf pair.  Yeah…me too.  But as soon as I stamped it in black…..well, wow.  So all I did was add a Melon Mambo flower from the coordinating die set and put a sequin in the middle.  The sentiment is from the stamp set too.  I kind of love how you could make a bunch of these in a rainbow of colors and have them all ready to send out!

Well, I’m back tomorrow and Friday with more from the Dare To Get Dirty week over at Splitcoaststampers.  I hope you will consider joining my challenge on Friday!!!  I’ll give you more details with my card.  Until then, off you go to enjoy all the eye candy from the design team this week!  See you soon!

DTGD16stampmomma - Fancy FlowersToday starts the most wonderful week of inspiration over at Splitcoaststampers!!!  It is Dare To Get Dirty Challenges week and you will not even believe all that SCS has planned!  As a former “Dirty Girl”, I get to participate on the planning side and will even be hosting my own challenge later in the week.  How do you get to see all this fabulousness??  You simply have to be a Fan Club Member at Splitcoaststampers.  Not only can you see all the details of the challenges, you can participate with present and past Dirty Girls.  And trust me….I have seen the challenges!  You will want to play!

My card today is a sample for Lori Craig’s Challenge (DTGD16stampmomma).  I can’t share the details of the challenge but you really need to see the inspiration for this card!  I started by coloring these flowers from Altenew’s Botanical Garden using Chameleon Pens (a technique I learned from my friend Ilina Crouse).  I am completely in love with these flowers!!!  I added them to a white base that I stamped with a sentiment from the July Paper Pumpkin (SU).  Don’t you love this one??  I cut the edge with my Border Builders die from Lil’ Inker Designs.  I added some sequins from my stash.  I love how the brushed gold ones match the Crumb Cake! I am a sample maker for another challenge on Aug 4th and my challenge will be on Aug 5th.  I hope you will join in the fun!!

Fancy Friday – Pick a Bundle!!

Fancy Friday – Pick a Bundle!! published on 2 Comments on Fancy Friday – Pick a Bundle!!

FF Jul - Floral WeddingWelcome to this month’s Fancy Friday Blog Hop!  Our team is a group of demonstrators who love to make beautiful things.  Sometimes they are clean, sometimes they are layered but the one thing I can say for sure is that our projects will be fancy!  If you hopped over from my amazing friend Jeanna, welcome to the next stop.  For July, our theme is Pick a Bundle!  The team is focusing on the amazing bundles in the annual catalog!!

I know it probably won’t come as a big surprise to those of you who follow my blog, but I chose the Floral Boutique bundle.  I am obsessed with this die set and the stamp is equally gorgeous!  Navy is the seems to be the wedding color of the season since I know of at least 2 brides (meaning that I know two brides, lol) who have chosen Navy as one of their colors.  Stampin’ Up sure hit the trend spot on!  I decided to use the dies to create a background for my stamped panel so I went with a tone on tone look.  But cutting a Night of Navy panel to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then cutting using the top and bottom dies from the Detailed Floral Thinlits, I had a perfect overlay for my card base (also in Night of Navy).  I used the dies similarly in my tutorial here except to create a stencil.  By attaching it directly to the base, it takes on almost an embossed look but with more detail.  I stamped my flower from the coordinating stamp set, Floral Phrases, in Night of Navy onto watercolor paper.  I took an paintbrush and moved the ink around a bit (and added some) to make it look a bit more hand painted.  I added the sentiment from the set by stamping in Versamark and heat embossing with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  So pretty!!  The image was cut with a Stitched Mat Circle Die and put up on Dimensionals.  A few Gold Metallic Sequins are a nice touch to add a bit more gold.

Fancy-Friday-08

I think you are going to LOVE all the inspiration from the hop this week!  So many beautiful bundles!!  You are sure to be totally wow’d by Erica at your next stop.  Have fun on the hop!  Make sure you come back on Saturday for the start of the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges at Splitcoaststampers!  See you then!

Jen Timko - FMS247 - Awesomely AmazingWe have an awesome surprise for you this week over at Freshly Made Sketches!!  One of our guest designers has taken on the job of sketch hostess!  Shannon Jaramillo has surely wow’d you and now she has given us a sketch that is bound to get you stamping.  Just think of all the possibilities for this one!

I thought it would be fun to use this flower image for the circle element and I hope Shannon will approve of my interpretation.  The image is from Awesomely Artistic.  I colored it using Copic Markers in pinks and light greens.  So fun to color!!  I’m continuing to try to participate in The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge as much as I can.  I highly recommend it.  Good for your happiness!  My sentiment is (again) from Paper Pumpkin.  I added some of the new Black Metallic Thread and Black Sequins.

I think you will love playing along on this one.  Please make sure you make a special visit over to Shannon’s blog to thank her for the inspiration!  I’ll be back on Friday with this month’s Fancy Friday project and next week I have some real fun for you.  Can’t wait to share more!  See you soon!

Jen Timko - FMS246 - Flourish in PinkNow just look at the cool sketch we have over at Freshly Made Sketches today!!  It is so fantastic!  No surprise, my friend Rita has added a tag since she has been making some super fab ones on her blog lately.  Ours are a bit cleaner but it is a fun element for sure!

I decided that Pop of Pink DSP was perfect for this one and used this fun Melon Mambo print for my tag that was created with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and a Corner Rounder from my Envelope Punch Board.  Super quick and so easy!  I love, love this flower that I created with the Flourish Thinlets.   I added some Black Baker’s Twine and embossed the back panel with Softly Falling to add a little more texture.  The sentiment comes from Paper Pumpkin.  Love how all the elements combine so beautifully for a bright and happy card!

CTS#181 - Day Filled with SunshineI have  fun card to share with you today!  I have been trying to play along with the 30-day Coloring Challenge again.  I miss some days but I like that I think about taking time (even just a few minutes) to color….just because.  It also pushes me to look for inspiration and find some fun challenges in which to play.  I was able to do just that for this card.  I started using the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge for the week as my sketch and also decided to join the Simon Wednesday Challenge.  The sketch is a wonderfully clean one that I hope I didn’t stretch too far.  The Simon challenge is to create a scene with a focus on Newton’s Nook stamps.

I used the adorable stamp set Newton’s Day Dream to create this little scene.  As usual for all cat things, my cat muse is my sweet little calico Kate.  I think in her perfect world she would nap with all these fun things flying about.  Or so she tells me when she tried to sneak outside and is caught.  *smile*  I colored using my Zig Clean Color Pens in the following colors:IMG_3591I really do love coloring with these pens so much!!  I cut the image panel out using my Wonky Stitches die to add a little more fun detail.  Just a quick post today.  I hope you have a lovely Saturday filled with sunshine.

Jen Timko - Pottery Inspired FloralsI am thrilled to finally share with you that I have been working on a Product Review for Splitcoaststampers over the last few weeks.  I’m sure you already know that Splitcoaststampers is always on the leading edge in looking for the latest and greatest in products, helping put focus on talented designers and a one-stop-shop for inspiration and information!  What a privilege it is to get the call about doing a review for something new!
