Happy Friday!! A quick share today of my card I created for the Picket Fence Studios blog today. I tried something a bit new for me and did a whole big image using no line watercolor. I find it intimidating but thought this gorgeous image was worth the risk.
I stamped in an ink specially made for no line coloring called Fadeout Ink by Ink on 3. It is super cool to use for this! And then I just kept layering on color until I was happy. It isn’t perfect. I’d totally change things. But I’m happy over all and so glad I tried it. And I’ll keep on trying to perfect the technique over time.
I have a few more details over there and I hope you’ll visit the company blog for lots of inspiration! Thanks for stopping in today. See you soon!
Welcome to this month’s Fancy Friday Blog Hop! Our team is a group of stampers who love to make beautiful things. Sometimes they are clean, sometimes they are layered but the one thing I can say for sure is that our projects will be fancy! If you hopped over from one of my crafty heroes Cathy Caines, welcome to the next stop. For April, we are focusing on the gorgeous artwork and images in the stamp sets. Sometimes pictures speak louder without words!I chose this gorgeous flower image from the Butterfly Basic stamp set as my focal point. I thought it would be fun to try coloring it using the no-line watercolor technique. I’m still working on this but I am pretty happy with the end result here. One of the best parts of stamping is that there is always something new to learn!! After I colored the flowers, I added a few pretty little details. First some lace trim (this one is retired but SU always has the most amazing ribbons and trims) and then I added some Linen Thread. The base is Crumb Cake, one of my favorite neutrals. I added some Basic Pearls too, because, well, I love them!
Now on to the rest of the hop! These talented stampers are going to inspire you for sure! Next up is the lovely Sue Plote.
