Today we have another fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. Our designer this week is the queen of florals, the lovely Narelle.
I decided to use another new product from Erin Lee Creative, the Tiny Card + Envelope Die. Isn’t this just adorable?! I want to make all the envelopes in all the colors! I thought the sentiment from Let’s Make Cards were perfect to pair with the die. I embossed the background using the Wonky Plaid Stencil.
I think you will have lots of fun with these square layers. And be ready, Erin Lee Creative’s new release goes live on June 12th. Thanks for stopping in today!! See you soon.
There are times when stamp companies come out with a release that is perfect for the moment. And you have to know that these companies work months before a release to design and manufacture so it generally isn’t something they just put together last second. So I will say that I’m thrilled that my friend Erin from Erin Lee Creative has done it again.
She has a new release coming out on June 12th and this image is a part of a set called Here For You. The sentiment is from the same set. I stamped the hands three times using my Misti for spacing and then colored away. It took a few days of coloring and taking my time to work on skin tones. Which is a wonderful thing to do when one likes to Copic color. I also realized that I need a few more colors to get the colors of the human rainbow right.
I generally avoid discussions of any political nature here but this moment in time is bigger than just “politics”. It is a time of learning and listening. It is also a time to realize that we have to figure this out. Really. We need to understand at our core that humans of all colors, shapes, sizes, genders and any other defining characteristic have value and worth. We have the ability to fix these problems. Together.
I hope you will be inspired by this card and by Erin’s release. Keep your eyes out for more details. I’ll be sharing them here and on social media. Until tomorrow, I hope you are safe and healthy. Thanks for stopping in!
I chose this fabulous new image from Erin Lee Creative as the focal point. It is from the Tropical Leaves stamp set and will be available on June 12th as part of her new release. I colored with Copic and then cut it out with an oval die. I realized that one of the sentiments in the set fit perfectly so I added it on the oval. I did some scoring to complete the sketch.
Thank you for stopping in today. I hope you are safe and well. See you soon!
Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed the flurry of posts last week. It was such fun being part of that exciting release. Back to “normal” this week and up with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is Cécile and wow, did she create a wonderful challenge.
At first the sketch had me a bit stumped. But then….an a-ha moment!! This City Stacks Stamp Set by Concord and 9th was perfect!! I stamped it onto white card stock with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then pulled out my Copic markers. I kept to generally muted colors that seemed right for my imaginary city. And I’m going to be truthful, I love many cities across the country (and world). And I miss them. I miss traveling a lot. I miss the people I work with and I miss seeing friends on my occasional visits to their cities. And that is ok. Because I know I have also been part of a greater good. But won’t it be wonderful when we can gather again?!
I think you are going to find all kinds of ways to use this sketch and I cannot wait to see them! I hope you are able to join us. Make sure to go see all that the design team has created. Honestly, they are just the best!! Thanks for stopping in today. I appreciate you so much!
Today is the day! Release day from SugarPea Designs! Everything goes live at 2p Eastern and my links below will go live then too. For now, I have one more project to inspire you and the team has more too!
I created a background with the Scale Cover Plate. I cut out a scrap of paper with the die and then used it as a stencil. An easy way to expand the use of your die! After that, I brushed some of the same ink onto a piece of watercolor paper with a heavier hand and then cut it out with the Happy Word die. I cut the shadow out of vellum and layered the two. In a similar way, I brushed coral ink onto the paper and cut it out with this lovely little butterfly. The butterfly die? Oh yes….it is a new product too. And you get it FREE with a $60 order. How awesome! I finished the card by adding the rest of the sentiment from the Happy Thoughts Stamp Set.

Today is day 4 of the Sweet Peek Week from SugarPea Designs! Are you impressed yet?! Well, we have just a little more to blow your sock off before unleashing you to shopping. Today’s stamp set and coordinating die are the Floral Envie Set and SugarCut plus the Handwritten Letter background stamp.
I am utterly in love with this envelope image. Just wow! The details are spectacular. If you love to color as much as I do, you will have so much fun with this. I colored the image using Copic Markers and just played with shading. To be truthful, I got just a bit lost in the process and that was such a gift!
Once I was done coloring, I cut the image out with the coordinating SugarCut die. It lines up perfectly and easily. Which is critical after all the time spent coloring for sure. I wanted to keep all the focus on my work so I used a piece of Kraft paper and stamped the Handwritten Letter background in Versamark. Subtle, beautiful, classic! I could not resist adding a couple of butterflies from the set popped up and the simple sentiment is from the Floral Envie set too.

My second post of today because it is a busy week! It is Crafty Friends Blog Hop day! This month we are showcasing products made with Honey Bee Stamps. They are another of those companies that are such great stamping community members and I am thrilled to be a part of celebrating them.
I was in need of some less “girly” birthday cards and the Piece of Cake Stamp Set was the perfect answer. So many fantastic options! I colored the cupcake with Copic and put it up on its very own little pedestal.
Isn’t it fun? The sentiment is from the same set and I thought a little banner was perfect for it. I found this cute patterned paper in my stash that matched the scallops of the holder. And it was in green, clearly meant to be!
I continue to be so thrilled that companies are working with us to give you discounts for our hops. Shop with Honey Bee Stamps on May 20 – 21 and use the code CRAFTYFRIENDS20 at checkout to get a 20% Discount. Click the graphic above to get to the shop.

Welcome to Day 3 of the Sweet Peek Week from SugarPea Designs. My card today is also for Freshly Made Sketches #436 so I’m multitasking! We have a whole lot of HAPPY for you today. Two new stamp sets and coordinating die sets: Happy Little Trees and Happy Thoughts/Happy Word Die.
Since the moment I saw the design team peek at this set, I have known it would be a huge hit. I mean really….BOB ROSS!!! The funniest part was when my high schooler saw it and demanded that I make him a birthday card with it. So, I have dutifully complied.
I stamped all of the images in Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic. I even went to find videos of Bob to see what he wore and to see some paintings. I mimicked some of his work for the little painting. He always used such interesting sky colors. I used the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil to create a bit of ground for the happy little tree and then built the rest of the scene. There is also fabulous sentiment set today! Since I was trying to follow the sketch, I could not make it work but I REALLY wanted to use “Wishing you lots of Happy”. It will be done on another card for sure!

Welcome back for day 2 of the Sweet Peek Week from SugarPea Designs. Today we are showing you the Cottontail Cuties Stamp Set and Dies plus the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil.
I colored the adorable elements from the set using Copic markers, cut them out with the coordinating dies and then set to building my scene. I started with the SugarCut Large Striped CoverPlate Die. After cutting it out of white card stock, I used the new Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil to create the grass and the clouds. Then all I had to do was add the pieces. Oh wow, this is fun! And the sentiments in the set. Don’t even get me going on those. They have awesome puns!

Welcome to day 1 of the SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week! This is my first release as a designer with SugarPea Designs and I’m just over the moon about the new products I get to share. We are featuring the Piece of Cake 3D Box Dies today. There is also a GIVEAWAY featured at the bottom of the post.
First of all, this fun product really does create a piece of cake! I chose to make mine vanilla with chocolate and raspberry. Because I LOVE this flavor of cake! Beyond the general cuteness of the cake, the versatility of the dies in the set makes this a standout.
I love the ability to stand things up on the top of the cake. I chose the layering hearts but there are stars and candles and other fun details too.
I thought the option to have a see through section on the top scallop was brilliant too. I used it to show some chocolate “frosting” but you could easily make it a peekaboo window into the contents.
