I’m happy to be able to share the latest from Freshly Made Sketches today. Our sketch was designed by the lovely Karren Johnson and it is another winner for sure!
I started with this dotted circle die from Pinkfresh Studio. Something about just cutting the dots into a base that I just love. I thought this flower from Folk Hummingbird was a nice fit for the sketch so I stamped it in Momento ink and colored it with Copic Markers. At first I just had white behind the circle but it got a bit lost. So I added a piece of pale blue card stock underneath and that was the perfect answer. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
I hope you will have a bit of time to play along with us this week. Our team has created some beautiful inspiration and I would love to see you in the gallery. Back tomorrow with a card for SugarPea Designs. See you then! Thanks for stopping in today.
Happy Wednesday! I am excited to be back today to share a card made for two challenges. I combined this week’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch with the inspiration from the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #75. I love the sketch designed by the lovely Jen Brum and it opened up some fun opportunities to play with new products.
I started it all by inking up Bristol card stock with Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Ink. I used my new Block Alphabet SugarCut Dies to cut the word LOVE. I added a few hearts from different SugarCut sets (Piece of Cake and Vintage Telephone) on the same run through.
I created a perfect framing layer using two new SugarCut basics. The Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Scalloped Rectangles work together perfectly. I added to the sentiment using a sentiment from Flurry of Warm Wishes and then cut it with the Sentiment Strips SugarCut dies. To add a bit more texture, I used the new Cute Heart Stencil for embossing the base.
Thanks so much for stopping in today! I hope you will play along with both of these challenges this week. A reminder that the Mix It Up challenge has a chance to win. See you again Friday!
Today is the day!! Release day for the Winter Release by SugarPea Designs! Today (Friday) at 2p Eastern all the shopping go live! Don’t forget to enter the GIVEAWAY by commenting on the team posts.
I wanted to come back to the Friendship Blooms stamp and die sets today but with the addition of some products I had not shown you yet. I created the background with the Gradient Stripes Stencil. I love the potential for this one. It is gorgeous with this Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink but would also be fabulous with embossing paste and other mediums. I added a layer from the new Stitched Scallops SugarCut which is just a fabulous basics set. I do love workhorse dies!!
Because I had started with Distress Oxide Ink, I thought that I should do some coloring with regular Distress Ink. I used Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry for the flower and then Bundled Sage with a touch of Rustic Wilderness on the leaves. I chose this pretty sentiment from the Floral Envie Stamp set to create a birthday card.

So, let’s be real, if my calico kitty was in charge of the world, this would be every day. I love this Let’s Stay In Bed stamp set and the opportunity to scene build again. There are dies to match but I did a bit of masking for this.
It was fun to create the room and a place for the kitty to nap. And my calico was my muse (in fairness to my gray tuxedo she simply matched better). I did a bit of watercoloring and then cut the scene with the new Stitched Rectangles SugarCut Dies.

I’m totally the bearer of good tidings this week and today I have even more! Erin Lee Creative is launching her January Release TODAY! So many fun things plus a hop and a GIVEAWAY.
I’m thrilled to show you the new Wonder Woman stamp set. Great images and inspiring sentiments abound! I stamped this image that is reminiscent of Rosie the Riveter and got to coloring with my Copics. Isn’t she wonderful?! After coloring (on white card stock), I thought she needed a bolder background so I colored behind her with a dark blue Copic as well.
This technique does not get old! Finally, after some debate of which worked best, I thought this sentiment was best. For all your friends who are struggling right now, what better way to cheer them on?!
Now for a chance to win:
Prizes: Be sure to comment on blog entries along the hop so you can be entered to win a $50 voucher to use in the ELC shop! There will be two winners chosen at random from the comments.
On with the hop! Next up is the amazing Cheryl Knutti. I just adore her creative style and I know you will love what she created!

Today is a busy day on the blog! First up, I get to share Day 3 of the SugarPea Designs Winter Release sneak peek! Given that it is Wednesday, I have combined it with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge with a fabulous sketch by the lovely Kim Singdahlsen. The SugarPea Designs release goes live on Friday, January 22nd at 2p and make sure you check out the GIVEAWAY at the bottom of this post.
One of today’s products is a beautiful stamp set called Friendship Blooms (with a coordinating SugarCut die set). The flowers in this set are spectacular. You will see them from me. A lot!! For today, though, I wanted to focus on the simplicity of one gorgeous image. I know that when we craft, we have a tendency to think more is more. Anyone who has been with me for a bit knows that I’m a bit of a minimalist. I do envy those who can put together layers of gorgeousness but for me, this is how I roll. And this stamp set allows me to do just that without feeling like I have missed something.
When I created this card, I needed a number of sympathy cards. The last year has taken such a toll on so many families and our friends are not exempt. I felt like this beautiful clean sketch combined with one pretty flower was perfect for what I needed. In truth, I colored a number of the flowers and created a few versions. But some of the cards needed to go out quickly so I only have this one photographed. The sentiment comes from a favorite of mine, Everyday Sentiments, but the sentiments from the set would be lovely on the same card. The rest of the products for today are equally awesome and I’ll be showing them to you in the upcoming weeks (and I’m sure the hop will inspire you too).

Welcome back for day 2 of the SugarPea Designs Winter Release sneak peeks. All the products shared this week will be available on Friday, January 22nd at 2p Eastern. And make sure you check out the GIVEAWAY at the bottom of the post.
Today’s project is a combination of all of the daily peek products! I cannot even get over how clever and creative this phone is. Every element of the Vintage Phone SugarCut is so well considered and super easy to use! To create it, I brushed on Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink onto white card stock and them just started cutting. The phone, the letters from the Hello Word SugarCut were all in one run through! I did the same with some of the gray pieces which is just Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The little numbers in the phone are from the Call Me Stamp Set and work with both the its set and the Vintage Phone dies. So smart! I added the new Chevron Cover Plate in the background for some neutral texture. I cannot wait to hear what you think about this one!

I chose to play with the new Sweet Swans Stamp Set and SugarCut Dies. This set is just so, well, sweet! The images are perfect for creating scenes. I just love the potential on this. I stamped a group of the images and then cut some out using the coordinating SugarCut dies. I used a bit of watercoloring using Distress Inks. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set and I thought this would be fun as a card for a family member who is going to be having her third child.

Happy Friday! Today I have a card to share with products from Honey Bee Stamps. The latest release was called Love Letters and my card today used a number of items from that release.
I fell in love with this adorable Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set and Honeycut Dies. I chose the bike image but there is a moped one too…such fun! And there are tons of little add-on pieces that give you tons of options. I’m not huge on sappy Valentine’s cards for my husband but this set seemed to hit just the right note. I gave “me” a cute little beret and “my husband” the sunglasses (which he always wears). A little bread and wine too!
I thought this would work well on a slimline card and pulled out Honey Bee Stamps’ slimline products. First off, I used the Horizon Slimline Borders to create a road for the bike and then the grass too. I thought the Wispy Clouds Honeycut was a nice add for the sky. The sentiment from the stamp set is perfect and I really love it for my husband. And I’m such a fan of dies that can cut the sentiments. I created the decorative panel smaller so that I could show off the stitching in the Slimline Sentiments: Stitched Honeycut.
I had a ton of fun creating this and look forward to playing with this stamp more. I hope you enjoy this one. Thanks so much for stopping in. I’ll see you next week!
A quick share today for a project I created for a feature over at the SugarPea Designs. I wanted to make a card that felt like a bit of winter but with a nod to spring coming.
I started with theSugarCut – Birch Forestdie. I love this die and thought a bit of coloring on it would be fun to try. So I cut it out of white card stock and then did a bit of Copic coloring. I kept it a bit watercolor-ish and tried not to over think it. I used some spring greens along with warm greys to get the feel of birch trees in spring. To keep the focus on the die, I used some kraft card stock for the base. The sentiment comes from the Floral Envie Stamp Set and I love the combination of fonts. I thought it needed something else and finally settled on some twine.
I hope you enjoy this card. I had such fun playing around with this fabulous die and I hope you’ll give it a try too! Thanks so much for stopping in today. See you again soon.
