Today is another wonderful Wednesday at Freshly Made Sketches! Our amazing Judy Rozema is the sketch designer and this is a classic you are sure to enjoy using.
I’m going to confess that I was a bit pressed for time on this so I kept it pretty straight to sketch. I went with products from Honey Bee Stamps because, well, that was what was on my desk. I had this scrap left from my print in the Team Tie Dye paper pad and added a flag cut to the end. Then, using the smaller of the two stencils, I texture embossed using the Layering Balloons stencil.
Bitty Buzzwords came to the rescue for the sentiment. I cut the “birthday” word from black card stock and some vellum and then added the stamped word from the coordinating stamp set. I thought it needed a little something extra so I put the banner on the angle a little and added a clip from my stash.
Thanks for dropping in today! Hope you have a great week and I’ll see you tomorrow for a project I created for SugarPea Designs.
Welcome to the Let’s Celebrate Sneak Peeks from Honey Bee Stamps. And truly, it is something to celebrate! The release will go live TONIGHT after the release party on IG and FB that starts at 8p Central. Come join us for the release party and then join the celebration!
Let’s face it, when your company is names Honey Bee Stamps, you make the cutest bees and honey possible! I was just insanely excited to get this Just BEEcause stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts. There are SOOOO many elements and ways to use the set. Details galore! I stamped the images in the new Intense Black Ink. Then I colored the images with Copic Markers.
Once I had all the elements colored, I started playing with my layout. I used the new Honey Comb Dies to create the layering honeycombs. These are super cool dies because they both cut out the coordinating stamp images or can combine to cut this little trio of honeycombs. I added a sentiment from the Just BEEcause set directly to the base and then added all the elements.
Finally, I added a touch of sparkle with some Wink of Stella on the bees wings. I had such fun playing with the possibilities of this set and I’m quite certain you’ll be seeing more of it from me.
Thanks for joining me for these sneak peeks. I hope you will join in on the IG or FB party. I would be grateful if you would consider shopping with me via my links in this post. See you soon!
Welcome to the Let’s Celebrate Sneak Peeks from Honey Bee Stamps. And truly, it is something to celebrate! The release will go live on Monday, May 3rd after the release party on IG and FB that starts at 8p Central.
I thought that a celebration card was the way to start so I pulled some balloon images from the Fancy Frosting Stamp Set and stamped them onto watercolor paper. This stamp set has everything you need for birthday cards, cake, balloons, frosting words, cake, oh and cake! But the balloons were perfect for me! Especially that striped one!
I loved the idea of using the same stripe colors as the patterned paper I chose! Out came my Daniel Smith watercolors and I got to coloring. But here is the deal…I actually knew exactly what colors to use because I’m the one who created this pattern! (Colors listed at the end of the post)
The Team Tie Dye is just that! The team sent designs into Melissa and she chose a beautiful array to turn into a paper pack. Side by side I have the original that I colored and sent in and then the pack version. The gorgeous art in this pack just blows me away and knowing that each was hand created makes it incredibly special!
The sentiment on the card front comes from the Fancy Frosting set but the inside comes from a new and fun set intended to be a bit sassy. We all have those folks on our mailing list that appreciate the humor and you are going to love having this choice (and there is another inside set that is a bit more traditional too).
Thanks so much for stopping in today. I hope you enjoy this peek! Let me know what you think about my card and my paper design.
Daniel Smith Watercolors: Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Orange Hue, New Gamboge, Hooker’s Green, Phthalo Blue (Green Shade), Indanthrone Blue, Quinacridone Purple
I’m up on Social Media for Honey Bee Stamps today and wanted to share here too. You will see that I’m kind of of a spring themed roll and just kept with it.
I have loved the idea of uncolored images on a bold background for awhile and thought it was time to give it a try. I inked the Sweet Sunflowers images and then just cut them out with the coordinating dies. I used the Basketweave Stencil to create this ombré background to provide a pop of color and texture. The sentiment is from the Spring Joy Bouquet set and I simply love this one!
Short and sweet today! Hope you have a beautiful day!
I chose the Love You S’more stamp set since it has this adorable coffee image and I do love the sentiment from the same set. I used the stripes from the Birthday Bash papers and added a bit of texture with the Quilted A2 Cover Plate (that I just cut down a bit).
I hope you like this fun card! Today is the last day of the Coffee Lovers Hop and make sure you go over to see all the inspiration there! And for all who have been patient with me being gone over the last weeks, here is a photo of my final sign off flight to be a Captain on the Airbus!
Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be sharing a project I created for the Honey Bee Designs Social Media Team. I suspect right now everyone is ready for a touch of spring and this seemed the perfect way to share some.
I used the Spring Joy Bouquet stamp set and coordinating dies for the pretty bouquet. I love tulips so much and this lovely image designed by the amazing Emily Midgett was wonderful to color. I added the Floral Bouquet Wrap Die that cut out some tissue paper for the flowers and tied it up with some ribbon from my stash.
To add a little additional dimension, I used one of the Quatrefoil Layers Stencil with Speckled Egg Distress Ink. Such a quick and easy way to add so much to a card!
Short and sweet! Training is moving along well and I’m hoping to be done with this part of it on Monday. I’m in Denver though, so the big snow event could impact our training center. I’ll be back on Monday for one more card that I made before leaving. Until then, have a wonderful weekend!
I’m so excited to share a sneak peek of the new Spring Bliss Release from Honey Bee Stamps. The release goes live today, February 16th at 11p Eastern.
Today I’m sharing with you an adorable die set, the Itty Bitty Eggs Honeycuts, along with the Easter Buddiesstamp set and dies, and introducing today’s new product, Playful Pastels Paper Pack. ** Links will not be live until the release launches at 11p tonight **
This little set of dies is just too fun! I took distress ink in different colors and brushed it onto Bristol paper. Then I just got to cutting out the eggs. Super fast and easy! On one of the cuts, I made sure the three eggs were evenly spaced and then I used that negative as a template for placing the eggs on the panel.
I chose a sentiment from the new Easter Buddies set that I thought was the perfect size to not cover the eggs too much. I stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist in keeping with the pastels. Finally I just tied on some ribbon from my stash to make it feel more finished.
So glad you stopped by today! Don’t miss the LIVE Release party at 9p Eastern followed by the actual release at 11p.
You may have seen that Honey Bee Stamps has started sneak peeks for their Spring Bliss Release. As a member of their social media team, I get to join in on the release fun too! I am sharing today’s Day 3 peeks along with the rest of the team.
As we approach Lent this week, I was particularly drawn to the Old Rugged Cross set. All of the images and dies combine for many, many variations. This is a multi-purpose set that is wonderful for Easter and Christian holidays but also for sympathy cards. As soon as I saw the set, I knew what I wanted to make. The crown of thorns image is perfectly sized to work with the crosses in the set and the die cuts the center to allow it to hang. The draped banner comes in two images that you can use together or separately to create the layered appearance on the cross.
Once I had the cross built, I wanted to use other products to highlight but not overshadow it. I started with the Frame Builder dies and just cut a white frame to add texture. But the card seemed a little too clean even for me. So I grabbed the new Basketweave Stencil and brushed on some Antique Linen Distress Ink to add more depth behind the cross. Finally, I had to choose a sentiment and this one seemed to be just exactly right. Again, the detail on the dies that cut the sentiment close allow so much more of the rest to show through.
Thanks so much for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with another peek.
The release will go live tomorrow night (Feb. 16th) at 11p Eastern after a release party at 9p Eastern. You can find the party on Instagram with Honey Bee Stamps!
Hello my friends! I hope the week has been good. I’m here to share a card I created for Honey Bee Stamps on Instagram today. Even though I have lots to be doing creatively this week, I just needed to take a moment for some coloring. And what better than a wonderful flower.
While it isn’t quite sunflower season, it is ever really NOT the time to color one this pretty?! Yeah, I thought the same. I pulled out lots of yellows and browns and got to work (a picture of the colors below). I just played with shading until I was happy.
Next I worked on leaves and then the wheat. The wheat adds a nice texture element with the flower. The Farmhouse Check background stamp is one that I will use over and over. Today I purposely under inked it for a tattered effect. Kind of loving that! And then finally the sentiment from the set. Perfect!
I hope you enjoy this one and that it inspires you just to sit down and color a bit. I didn’t do this all in one sitting and I highly recommend projects that take a bit of time. Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll be back tomorrow with a new card for the latest release by Honey Bee Stamps.
Happy Friday! Today I have a card to share with products from Honey Bee Stamps. The latest release was called Love Letters and my card today used a number of items from that release.
I fell in love with this adorable Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set and Honeycut Dies. I chose the bike image but there is a moped one too…such fun! And there are tons of little add-on pieces that give you tons of options. I’m not huge on sappy Valentine’s cards for my husband but this set seemed to hit just the right note. I gave “me” a cute little beret and “my husband” the sunglasses (which he always wears). A little bread and wine too!
I thought this would work well on a slimline card and pulled out Honey Bee Stamps’ slimline products. First off, I used the Horizon Slimline Borders to create a road for the bike and then the grass too. I thought the Wispy Clouds Honeycut was a nice add for the sky. The sentiment from the stamp set is perfect and I really love it for my husband. And I’m such a fan of dies that can cut the sentiments. I created the decorative panel smaller so that I could show off the stitching in the Slimline Sentiments: Stitched Honeycut.
I had a ton of fun creating this and look forward to playing with this stamp more. I hope you enjoy this one. Thanks so much for stopping in. I’ll see you next week!
