Another amazing sketch today from Freshly Made Sketches!! No surprise that there is a tendency towards florals this week with our lovely sketch designer Narelle in charge. Let’s face it, she is the queen of a gorgeous floral card! Who am I to buck the trend?! So I chose a brand new set that I just got from Altenew called Weekend Doodles. I love the whimsical style of the flowers and wreaths of the set.
I chose the smaller floral and did a bit of Copic coloring on the image using some purples and a pretty sage green. To stay truer to the sketch, I used a stitched circle and put the flowers up on the circle. Look at that, following the sketch….you knew it had to happen eventually!!
To play off of the green of the leaves, I chose a pale green (from my SU stash) that coordinated beautifully. For the sentiment, I stamped one from the same set but then used the Cut Align (My Sweet Petunia) to cut only the part I wanted for the sketch. This is a new to me tool and I’m already addicted to it! Finally, I added a few sequins to finish.
This week’s sketch is one that is easy to use and such fun too. I hope to see you in the gallery!! Thank you so much for stopping in today! See you soon!
