Happy Freshly Made Sketches day! I have been running around getting end of school year things done but I was happy to take a break and enjoy this fun sketch by the lovely Kim Singdahlsen. The trio is going to help inspire some great cards this week!
For me, I knew I wanted to use this long leaf die (Layering Leaves) by Concord and 9th. It is perfect, don’t you think? I also just got the pack of new colors from Stampin’ Up (they are doing a whole color revamp and the new colors are fresh and fun!). I chose Gray Granite for the card. It is less steely and blue than Smokey Slate and it has moved right to the top of my favorite neutral colors. I cut the leaves out and then created a shaker card. I put the acetate behind the cut outs, then glued the die cuts back on top of the acetate piece. Sparkling Clear Sequins are the perfect filler for the windows (I did debate a bright color but settled on the shimmer of these). For my sentiment panel in the sketch, I used the die cut FRIEND from the Posie Fill In Die set cut from Thick Whisper White. After cutting them out, I laid them back in the negative and added the foam tape behind the letters. Then just attacked it to the card that way. Helped keep the word all lined up. Nice and clean and even ok for a masculine card. Always need some of those in my stash!
I hope you are having a great week. Back to crafting today. Working to get ahead for some fun things coming up. Until next time, make sure you pop over to visit the design team’s work. Amazing as always! Thanks for stopping in. See you soon!

You make neutrals look so fresh and clean, and beautiful. I love how you’ve made a shaker card with this die. Very clever and fun!
Love the gray granite….those diecuts leaves look fabulous with the gray and white. Very chic and stylish!
That gray is a wonderful color and what a genius idea to use that particular die and create a shaker! Good call to go with the sparkling clear sequins, too, because you’ve ended up with a gorgeous, elegant neutral card.
Oh my! This is just gorgeous! I love the shaker!!! It’s so pretty and the grey and white make it so elegant! I also really love that block of wood!!!
I am intrigued by your description of Gray Granite. I’m always on the lookout for the perfect neutral so I’ll have to check that out! I love how this card looks with the feather cutouts – and it’s a shaker! Woo hoo! Nothing is better than a fun shaker!
I am in awe of what you created! I love those leaves and the hint of sequins is a gorgeous look!
