Hello Friend for SPD and FMS

Hello Friend for SPD and FMS published on 6 Comments on Hello Friend for SPD and FMS

I’m up on the SugarPea Designs blog today playing with the Mix It Up Challenge #73 and I combined it with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. The sketch from Karren really opened up lots of options and I knew just what I wanted to do.

I thought the colors were perfect for a little fall wreath so I created one using the lovely elements from the SugarCut – Open Book dies. A bit of twine created the wreath.

To make the sketch panel feature, I used the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil and sponged on Tuxedo Black Momento Ink. The sentiment comes from the Beautiful Books Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you’ll join me for both of these fun challenges. Have a wonderful day!

O Christmas Trees for SugarPea Designs

O Christmas Trees for SugarPea Designs published on No Comments on O Christmas Trees for SugarPea Designs

I’m over at the SugarPea Designs blog with a new project today. I created a Christmas card for you using products not specifically for the holidays.

I started the card by creating the base detail with the Falling Snow Stencil. First I embossed with the stencil running it through my Gemini Jr., then I sponged a little bit of white ink over the texture to add more detail. Next up, I used the triangle from the SugarCut – Piece of Cake set. Then I used one of the box dies to score another larger triangle which I just cut on the score line. Finally, I used the small flag die for the trunks. They were all cut from watercolor paper and I inked them with Distress Oxide Ink.

I chose the sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set and cut it out using the SugarCut – Sentiment Strips. I decorated the trees with stars from the box set and cut them from glitter paper. Such a fun and easy way to create a holiday card!

I love that this used things that are not intended for holiday cards. Multi-tasking of products is a big thing for me because you get the best value from your craft dollar. Thanks so much for stopping in today. See you again soon.

Freshly Made Sketches #460

Freshly Made Sketches #460 published on 7 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #460

We have a wonderful new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches today from our wonderful designer Judy Rozema. I love the big banner shape and lots of great ideas immediately came to mind.

I fell in love with the Sparkle and Shine Kit from GinaK Designs the moment I saw it. And this particular stamp set was one I could not wait to get my hands on. I opted to use the round ornament image and embossed in silver. Perfect for the sketch and so pretty! I layered on a sentiment from the set and then….. Yes, I added GinaK’s Glitter Card Stock.

This is such a different kind of glitter paper! It has all the sparkle but is almost “sealed” if that makes sense. No shedding of the glitter whatsoever. Perfect from someone like me who likes the looks but can’t stand the mess.

I hope you enjoy this card and will come over to play with our sketch this week. Thanks so much for stopping in. See you tomorrow with a new card for SugarPea Designs.

Erin Lee Creative November Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the November Release Blog Hop from Erin Lee Creative! I’m so excited to share these Stripes and Hearts products!

I could not wait to focus on the suite of Stripe products! I started with the Stripe Stencil. So easy to quickly create this little rainbow of color! I just used a straight edge and moved the stencil down while switching out the Distress Ink colors.

Needless to say, the obvious sentiment answer was this “Be A Rainbow” from the Stripe Sentiments Stamp Set. So many great sentiments, though, and a coordinating Stripe Die with it that is a must-have! I added on a few sequins from my stash to highlight the rainbow colors.

Now for a chance to win!

Prizes: Two $50 gift vouchers to be used in the ELC shop. Winners will be chosen and announced on Monday, November 9. Comment on all the blogs or IG pages for chances to win.

Sending You Joy for SugarPea Designs

I’m up on the SugarPea Designs blog today with a Design Team Feature project. It is time for me to start getting serious about holiday cards and that was my inspiration for today’s project.

I decided to combine a variety of snow themed products for this card. Starting with using the Falling Snow Stencil as an embossing folder, I ran it through my Gemini Jr adding texture to white card stock.

Then I left the stencil in place and brushed on Distress Ink in a ombré set of blue colors. While I was at it, I inked up some more white paper to use with die cuts. The SugarCut – Snowflake Tag and the SugarCut – Joy Word were cut on this sheet. And then I stamped the “Sending you” from the Flurry of Warm Wishes Stamp Set on the same sheet to finish the sentiment.

Hop over to the blog to see daily inspiration or visit the shop to find all these products. Thanks for stopping in today. See you soon!

Sending Hugs for Erin Lee Creative

I’m up today on the Erin Lee Creative Blog with some inspiration using her newest release. I am still in love with her Winter Florals stamp set and wanted to show a bit of its flexibility.

I took the single flower image and stamped it in Momento Tuxedo Black on white card stock. I colored the flower first using some fall colors. Then I chose a rich blue green Copic to color the background. This effect is really striking! I stamped a sentiment from the set on a panel and colored it in the same oranges from the flower. I cut a square panel with a circle die to frame the coloring.

I hope you enjoy this card and the Copic background technique. Thanks for stopping by today. See you soon!

CASE Me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton

CASE Me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton published on 1 Comment on CASE Me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton

I have a fun project for today! My friend Michelle Lupton invited me to join her in her October Series, CASE Me a Christmas Card. Each of us chooses a card made by the other and then CASE (Copy and Share Everything) it. I always consider the rule of three when CASEing, trying to change at least three things. Michelle has a fun acronym that she uses, LIMES. Go over to see how she does it! Super smart.

I used a wonderful stamp set by SugarPea Designs for my card today. I love these snowflakes and I’m ready to make some holiday themed cards! I thought they were the perfect set to pull out when I chose my card by Michelle.

I love the pop of black against the pretty inked background so I kept that feature. I chose to make it a square instead and inked on Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink. Using the snowflakes instead of the flowers was an easy switch. For the sentiment, I kept to a white banner instead of black. On hers she added Wink of Stella for some sparkle. I chose to add a few sequins instead.

I love this idea and it is fun to be inspired by one of my favorite card makers! Now I cannot wait to see which of my cards she CASE’d! Thanks for stopping in today! See you soon!

Another week has flown by and I’m busy getting used to combining flying and stamping again. But I have a quick card for you using the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. Our wonderful Kim Singdahlsen has created a unique and fun sketch.

I kept it pretty straight to the sketch and tried to just focus on the shimmer and shine of glitter paper. The fabulous sentiment die is the Happy Word SugarCut and I used its coordinating stamp set, Happy Thoughts.

The background texture is an old Stampin’ Up embossing folder.

I hope you will enjoy playing along with us this week. Lots of fabulous inspiration from the team, as always. Thanks for stopping in. See you soon!

You are sure to love it.

SPDMix72 – You’re So Kind

A quick follow up from yesterday’s Mix It Up Challenge #72 post over at the SugarPea Designs blog. A reminder that if you play along, you get a chance to win shopping! Woohoo!

I love the colors and the sketch from the challenge and chose to use both. I stamped a bunch of the little flowers from Hey Fall and colored them quickly. Using the squared from the SugarCut – Card Front Elements III, it was easy to follow the trio from the sketch. I used my CutAlign tool to get things evenly spaced and straight.

Hop on over to the SugarPea Designs blog to see more inspiration posted by the team each week for this monthly challenge. Thanks for stopping in! See you soon.
