Flower Blossoms

What can be better than a new stamp set and coordinating Designer Series Paper??!!  An Open House where you get to use the stamp set and the beautiful paper!!  Sorry I was mostly absent last week.  I have been busy creating for all kinds of things THIS week.  First of all, I have an Open House to celebrate the new catalog tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and evening.  If you live in the Northern VA area and would like to take a trip to Warrenton to see some new catty products, just let me know!  I can’t wait to show my local stampers some of the fun things I have been creating.  Don’t worry, I’ll be showing them here later this week!

Here is our Make-n-take for the Open House.  Fruit & Flowers is already becoming an awesome go-to set.  Just look at how fun (and quick) this little card is.  The Berry Blossoms DSP is fantastic…I always find DSPs even better in person!  And of course, I just “had” to tie on a little of the lovely Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon.  Can’t wait to order it in all the colors for my ribbon share!  I thought this was a perfect card for the Creative Crew Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  This month’s challenge was to use the new In Colors and our favorite new products!

I’m posting this a day early because tomorrow I’ll be back with the latest SU Only Challenge.  Of course the card uses more new catalog stamps and DSP!  On Thursday I will have my ColorLab Challenge card, as always.  Finally (and please make plans to come back), I am in a Stampin’ Addicts New Catalog Blog Hop starting on Friday.  My projects are done and I can barely wait to show you all the fun things I have done with my set.  So now you see why I was absent last week!

Thanks for stopping in today.  See you tomorrow!

Stamps:  Fruit & Flowers, Short & Sweet; Paper:  Berry Blossoms DSP, Early Espresso, Whisper White; Ink:  Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso; Accessories:  Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon, Dimensionals

Butterfly Craze

At least that is what I feel like I am in.  I seem to love every set with a butterfly in it!  I just participated in a non-Convention goer swap with the Stampin’ Addicts and I can finally post my card made with my latest butterfly set.  I received my box of lovely swaps and, wow, am I one lucky stamper!

I used Cajun Craze and Soft Suede as my colors for this one.  It originally had some Well-Worn DSP in the design which led to the colors, but the DSP was dropped and the colors stayed.  This palette speaks Fall and, quite honestly, I would love a little Fall weather right now!  I used the new hostess set, Precious Butterflies, and it is a beautiful set!  I used the new Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon for the bow…love it!

I hope you have had a great week!  I’m hoping to spend a little more time stamping this weekend (since it is too hot to be outside).  Back next week with some more projects from the new catalog.  Thanks for dropping by!

Stamp:  Precious Butterflies; Paper:  Cajun Craze, Naturals Ivory; Ink:  Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Versamark; Accessories:  Paper Piercing Tool, Mat Pack, Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Sponges, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

Nope, I didn’t fall off the planet, just been really busy with the boys and getting ready for a blog hop next week (new catalog sets…it will be fun!).  But today I am here with another ColorLab Challenge.  The fun with new In Colors continues with the addition of Lucky Limeade this week.  This color set practically says “use me with flowers!”  So I did.

Fruit & Flowers to be exact!  This is a great little flower that is perfect for quick cards (in fact this whole set is perfect for that).  The sentiment comes from Heard from the Heart.  Now what are those little score lines in the background on the Perfect Plum base??!!  They are the excuse to tell you one of the big things coming from Stampin’ Up’ Convention last week.  Stampin’ Up is introducing Simply Scored in the upcoming Holiday Mini!!!!!  Finally, a score tool that meets Stampin’ Up’s high standards!!!  So while I made these score lines with my paper cutter, imagine how much faster it will be with the new score board.

If you needed any more incentive than the $99 Starter Kit, you can also order the fabulous items from the Holiday Mini on August 1st if you are a demonstrator (including this Simply Scored tool set).  If you have ever considered becoming a Stampin’ Up demonstrator, this is the time to join!!

Well, off to swim lessons and, hopefully, to finish some ideas I have for the Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop next week.  Don’t forget that my Ribbon Share is still running through next Tuesday.  I still have a couple of spots open in each share.  I’ll be back tomorrow with a swap card I made for a group of stampers from Stampin’ Addicts.  Thanks for dropping in today!

Stamps:  Fruit & Flowers, Heard from the Heart; Paper:  Perfect Plum, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White; Ink:  Perfect Plum, Lucky Limeade, Riding Hood Red; Accessories:  Scallop Trim Border Punch, 1/8″ White Taffeta Ribbon, Subtles Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Thread

Take a look at the fabulous colors for this week’s challenge over at the ColorLab!  We continue New Colorpalooza with the addition of Island Indigo to this week’s group.  It is easy to deduce that I really love Baja Breeze and just wait until you see it with Island Indigo.  Wow!  I have to admit that I wasn’t sure about the Rich Razzleberry but, as usual, it turned out to be an awesome combination!

I pulled out my Brights Designer Paper Pack and chose two Rich Razzleberry designs.  My new Fruit & Flowers stamp set was calling out for ink and I thought this flower would be fun.  Love that it fits perfectly in the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch!!  I inked it with the challenge colors Stampin’ Write markers and then added a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The scallop circle is from the Perfect Pennant die (yes, you can expect to keep seeing these).  I tied on some Baja Breeze Seam Binding that has a bow cinched with a Razzleberry button to finish it off.

Don’t forget that I am running a ribbon share and this fabulous ribbon is in Selection 2.  More can be found in yesterday’s post.  The layout is my take on the Inkspirations Sketch Challenge this week.  Love this one (and all the cards the design team made)!

Wow, three posts in a row…and I haven’t even inked all my new stamps yet.  You can expect to see more next week with some of those!  Until then, I hope you have a fantastic weekend and thanks for dropping by!

Stamps:  Fruit & Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper:  Brights Designer Paper Pack, Basic Black, Whisper White; Ink:  Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry; Accessories:  Big Shot, Perfect Pennants Die, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Regals Designer Buttons, White Baker’s Twine, Dimensionals

Ribbon, beautiful ribbon!

Ribbon, beautiful ribbon! published on 7 Comments on Ribbon, beautiful ribbon!

I am such a fan of Stampin’ Up’s beautiful ribbon and this catalog has more fabulous offerings!!  At the request of my customers here in VA, I am running a ribbon share and figured to should allow my online readers to join in if interested.  First, I have a card for you and then all the details.

Of course the card uses one of the new ribbons, the 3/8″ Denim Jean Ribbon in Blue.  Wow…it is awesome and ties really well!  I also used some of the new DSP called Well Worn.  I can promise you will continue to see a lot of it because I am completely in LOVE with the designs!!  Finally, I used the scallop from the new Perfect Pennants die for the Big Shot.  It layers perfectly with the 1 3/4″ circle punch!  The stamped image is from the new hostess set, Precious Butterflies.  What pretty images in that set!

Celebrating the kids!

Celebrating the kids! published on 8 Comments on Celebrating the kids!

Over at SU Only Challenges, we are celebrating the kids!  So whether it is for the kids or for someone who is a kid at heart, we can’t wait to see what you make this week!  I have been busily making things with my NEW sets and today is the first reveal.

One of the first sets that called out to me from the new Stampin’ Up catalog was Patterned Party.  I am forever making birthday cards for the boys’ friends and this set has so much versatility!  I combined it with the new 2011-13 In Colors to make a fun card.  Calypso Coral, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade were used to color the balloons and then I re-inked the Calypso Coral balloons to re-stamp them.  I cut those out and popped them up on Dimensionals.  Now to the ribbon.  I think you all know that I love a pretty ribbon.  Yep, pretty much can’t resist one.  This Ruffled Ribbon (available in the new In Colors) is even better that I anticipated!  It ties beautifully and adds so much dimension.  Adding more colors to my next order!!  The Creative Crew over at Splitcoaststampers is celebrating the new In Colors and stamps so I am posting this there too.

I hope you like this fun card!  I’ll be featuring a card tomorrow using one of the new hostess sets (and another new ribbon) so make sure you stop back by!  Don’t forget that you have about 2 weeks to participate in the SUO Challenge so all of you demonstrators going to Convention in Salt Lake City will still have time to play next week.  See you tomorrow!

Stamps:  Patterned Party, Up, Up and Away; Paper:  Calypso Coral, Whisper White; Ink:  In Color Stampin’ Write Marker Pack (Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade), Basic Gray; Accessories:  Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Dimensionals

All products are Stampin’ Up!

The new catalog is live and the new In Colors are available so the ColorLab Challenge has included Wisteria Wonder this week.  Ooooh, it is so pretty and really is amazing with the Pink Pirouette!  I have to admit that the Cherry Cobbler threw me a bit but then I realized how pretty it is with the Pink Pirouette and I had my answer!

I inked up the big flower from Vintage Vogue with Pink Pirouette and then sponged some Cherry Cobbler around the edges.  For the Wisteria flowers, I inked them up with Wisteria Wonder and stamped them off once.  Then I sponged on some full strength Wisteria Wonder.  The sponging was all done with sponge daubers (love those things and your fingers stay clean!).  I cut out the big flower and popped it up on a Dimensional then added Basic Pearls to all the flowers.  The White Organza Ribbon is a beautiful compliment to the pearls so I tied a little bow to add on.  Finally, the sentiment is from the retired hostess set, Because I Care.

Speaking of retired sets, I’m getting ready to post my list of retired items for sale.  Keep an eye out for that to see if there are any that interest you.  Thanks for dropping by today!  Hope to see you again soon!

Stamps:  Vintage Vogue, Because I Care (retired hostess); Paper:  Pink Pirouette, Whisper White; Ink:  Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Wisteria Wonder; Accessories:  Big Shot, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, White Organza Ribbon

Waiting, waiting….

Waiting, waiting…. published on 10 Comments on Waiting, waiting….

and waiting is not my strong suit!  Yes, the wait is on for my new catalog order to arrive. Until then I just have to keep using some retired items.  Of course, the more I use the retired things, the more room I’ll have for my lovely new products.  A few highlights from my order:  Up, Up and Away, Patterned Party, Fruit and Flowers, Berry Blossoms DSP, Well Worn DSP….   Ok, you get the point!

One of the sets that I was REALLY happy to see return from the Holiday Mini is Day of Gratitude.  I had only just begun to see its potential when the Holiday Mini ended.  I thought it would be really pretty with the palette from Elegant Soiree (retired).  I have to say, if you were a fan of Elegant Soiree I can’t wait for you to see the Beau Chateau Suite (pp. 132 – 134)!  I inked up the flower in Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.  The border is punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and I tied on some Baja Breeze Seam Binding.  Basic Pearls are the final touch.  I continues to amaze me how such tiny little pearls can add so much to a card!  At the price point, I feel perfectly happy to use them with reckless abandon!  This awesome layout is from the team over at Stamping 411.  They have a new sketch every Saturday and an endless supply of tutorials and ideas.  They continue to be one of my favorite sources of inspiration!

I will be back on Thursday with another ColorLab Challenge and it uses one of the new In Colors!!  After that I hope to have some new things to show you.  That said, I know you’ll understand that you can expect to see only two posts per week during the summer vacation.  As much as I love creating, I find it harder to do when my little boys are home and there are so many wonderful things to go do.  Of course, when the new box arrives even they understand that mommy “has” to stamp!  *smile*  I hope your summer is going well.  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Day of Gratitude, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper:  Elegant Soiree DSP (retired), Soft Suede, Very Vanilla; Ink:  Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake; Accessories:  Scallop Trim Border Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals

Hooray for the Red, White and Blue!!  Okay, in this case we have Red, Blue and Blue (with a little Naturals Ivory) but you get the point.  The ColorLab Challenge is timely, as usual…ready for the Independence Day holiday here in the U.S.  The stampers over at Stampin’ Royalty are celebrating their patriotism and this color selection fit right in for me.

You may have noticed that pinwheels are showing up everywhere so I decided to give it a try.  I took some Not Quite Navy card stock and sponged on Night of Navy ink to make it pop.  The DSP is from the retiring Jolly Holiday paper – one last showing!  You’ll notice that I threaded a thin strip through the buttons too.  Today is the LAST DAY to order any retiring items so don’t put it off any longer!!  The layout comes from the Fall-to Layout Challenge.

I hope you are ready for the new catalog to launch…my order is standing by (and getting longer).  With any luck, you’ll start seeing cards with some new products in week or so!  Off for some summer fun with the kids today!  Have a great rest of your week!
