Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh has been hosting a Watercolor Blog Hop all weekend! I could not help but be inspired by all the beautiful designs and had to join in!
So I’ve had this stamp set for a while. A long while. A year to be exact. It was from the Occasions Catalog 2014 and it was one of my very favorites. But in all of the Artisan Design Team flurry of activity, this stamp never got used. I know….it is a tragedy. Because it is awesome. Finally, I had just the reason to pull this out and give it the time it deserves. I stamped the image in Versamark and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto watercolor paper. I colored with Calypso Coral, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush with a soft shading of Tip Top Taupe around the flowers. The banner was stamped in Tip Top Taupe and hand cut. I shaded some Basic Pearls with my Copic W5 marker to give them a little more depth. I attached the image panel to a Tip Top Taupe base.
I just love the look of white embossed watercolored images and this card makes me really happy! I hope you find a little bit of watercolor inspiration here and will go take a look at the beautiful work of all the participants. Thanks so much for stopping in today! Have a great week!

I told you last Wednesday that I was working on a card trying to make it fit the sketch when I just had to abandon it and try another path. Well, I loved the FMS card I made but still needed to finish the one I was fighting with. So I thought I should share it with you today! Without the constraint of the sketch, I was able to just add a simple sentiment and not worry about the extra circle element.
Looks like Amy O’Neill and I were on the same wavelength for the sketch using the stars from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits on the Stacked with Love DSP pack papers. I used a little clip from the Basics Hodgepodge Clips to hold together the banners and the piece of Real Red Cotton Ribbon. The sentiment is from a retired set but seemed perfect to finish this off. Any number of current bold words could be used instead (Four You, for example)!
Quick post today. Off to the gym and then the grocery store. Yep….a big day planned. Hoping for a little stamping time too.
Back on Wednesday with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. We have a fun sketch from Linda Callahan this week. Until then, I hope your week starts off great! Thanks for stopping in!

Look at this!!!! Amy O’Neill has created the most awesome sketch for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches! Don’t you just love it!!! Yeah, me too! I thought it would be a great way to show you some new things coming your way in the upcoming catalog from Stampin’ Up and highlight a few that are staying around.
I started by pulling out this new DSP stack called the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. It is fantastic! Love the colors (even the Curry) and the designs. It was perfect for this sketch and fun to be able to show off some of the patterns. I embossed the Crushed Curry panel using the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with continues into the new catty and added the word bubble from Just Sayin’. The stamp and the framelits both made the new catty too. The baker’s twine is new and it is in Crushed Curry. Totally great! And that is that. Nothing too fancy but I really like it. Amazing how happy some new paper can make me!
You’ll love what the design team has done with the sketch and I can’t wait to see your take on it. Hope you’ll join us this week!
Ok, so the craziness is dying down a bit and I’m starting to catch up from two weekends of family First Communions. My youngest was so handsome on his big day and the family party was wonderful! I got a few days to breathe and back to work tomorrow for United. I also have some major stamping coming up!! I am going to be a display stamper for this year’s Convention and am expecting my box of goodies any time. I’ll be busily working away here in my stamp room but won’t be able to share until July. I hope you’ll be patient with me on that. Once I can share, I’ll be posting all my work of course. And I will still be with you every week with my Artisan Wednesday Wow hops and Freshly Made Sketches, of course. Worky, worky, busy bee!!!!
I hope your week is going along well. Until next post, happy stamping!

Welcome to our next edition of the May Artisan Wednesday Wow hop. Boy do we have some fun for you this month!! Last week the whole team showcased the new Project Life® by Stampin’ Up® line of products. This week, we are showing off even more fun from the new catalog. If you just came over from the amazing Jeanna, welcome to the next stop. If you are starting here, just continue around using the next buttons until you get back to me.
I know Mother’s Day has already passed but I could not resist showing you this card. The stamp sets are Peaceful Petals from the Occasions Catalog and Papillon Potpourri that continues into the new catalog. They are perfect together!! I stamped the flowers with the new Memento Black Ink and then stamped the leaves with a mask to protect the flowers. Those vibrant colors are courtesy of the new Blendabilities Alcohol Markers and wow are they fun! The depth of color is so extraordinary!! I used the Cherry Cobbler set on the flowers, Old Olive on the leaves and then a combination of Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana on the butterfly. And about those gems. They are not new to the catalog. They are the ever so fabulous staple Basic Rhinestones, except colored with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities (medium color). Makes all the difference, doesn’t it?! Oh, and you can color the Vintage Faceted Buttons too (I colored the back side only with the same marker as the rhinestones). The ink stays put and you can coordinate with your image. Swoon!! I’m officially in love! I used the Hardwood stamp to create the background. Early Espresso stamped on Crumb Cake Card Stock to start. Then I cut the image apart and sponged each piece. They are attached back to a Crumb Cake base and they look almost real….even next to my real wood background. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and you could sub out almost any little sentiment in its place. This card was for my mom and for once she actually saw it before it went on my blog. Hope your day was great mom!!
Okay, off to go visit the awesome Mercedes Weber. I can’t wait for you to see what she has created! Make sure you hop around the whole loop to take a look at beautiful creations by the whole team…you’ll be happy you did!

This week has unofficially been designated “I Love Demonstrator Support Week”!! What is Demonstrator Support you ask? They are the team at Stampin’ Up that is there to fix, help and otherwise make right everything that demos mess up, can’t answer or simply need assistance on when running our SU businesses. They have the best customer support of any company I have ever seen and they are truly wonderful! I thought it would be fun to dedicate my Artisan project this week to them and all they do! Oh…and I sent a card from earlier this month too because nothing beats a handmade card to say thanks! So to anyone at Demo Support:
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!
My project this week uses the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit and Tea Lace Doilies. Now the kit makes a wonderful wreath (of course) but SU asked me to use it in a new way. Because I get to give one away (see below). Yippee!!! I wanted to stay true to using only the kit if possible (plus the doilies because I get to give those away too). Other than a 12″ x 12″ piece of cork board and some Basic Pearls, I managed to do just that. I used the Burlap Ribbon from the kit and cut it into pieces large enough to wrap to the back of the cork board. I hot glued them down in layers. Easy peasy. After putting flowers together from the kit, I started arranging them in shapes. As I played, the a-ha moment came and I created a heart. To help get the shape right I added some Tea Lace Doilies in the background. I sponged all of the flower edges and the doilies with Crumb Cake ink (those sponge daubers are retiring so make sure you get them now!). Then using the hot glue, I attached everything to the board. I tied some Linen Thread in the buttons from the kit and added them. Finally I “sprinkled” on some Basic Pearls. The Burlap Ribbon from the kit meant for hanging the wreath is used for the same purpose on my heart. This is a fun alternative for the kit and it takes no more work than making a wreath (which is pretty easy too). I hope you like this!
Now for the REALLY fun part. Stampin’ Up has created a giveaway that the whole Artisan Design Team gets to do. Each one of us will choose one winner and SU will send you our designated product. Happy beginning of the week to you all!! I hope that your weekend went well. I’m back from my training/check with United and ready for some more crafty goodness this week! Engine failures, electrical issues, hydraulic/flight control issues….all kinds of “fun” in the simulator for three days is enough to drive me running back to my stamp room. But my check went really well. It is always good to have that done (until the next one in 9 months). Ok…enough about that and on to stamping.
Don’t you LOVE the colors for this week’s Merry Monday Challenge?? I was smitten the second I saw them!
Do you recognize the papers on this card? No?? They are from the Calypso Coral Celebration Add-On Kit. Yes they are! As I was shuffling around looking for the right papers, they were sitting right on my desk. They work so well together of course since they are from the same kit. The stamp is a favorite of mine from the last Holiday Catalog, Merry Little Christmas. I stamped it on Whisper White. I first inked it in Crumb Cake and then used a sponge dauber to apply Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on top (retired). It adds a pretty sparkle that was hard to capture with a camera.
The stamped words were punched out with my 2-1/2″ Circle Punch and backed with a scalloped circle from the Perfect Pennants Die. I added some Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Trim for additional shimmer and texture. That trim is so pretty and perfect at the bottom of panels! Finally, a Vintage Faceted Button with Linen Thread and some random Pearls.
I hope you will play along with the challenge this week. The design team there has provided some amazing inspiration so make sure you take a look!

I continue to love this sweet little stamp set (Springtime Hello). I can’t get enough of it! So I figured I should share another way to use it. This time I created a background using my acrylic blocks that is really fun and creates this cool watercolor effect. Take your Stampin’ Write Marker and scribble on a block, spritz with water and drag it across the paper. Because the Watercolor paper isn’t smooth, the block kind of skips over sections and leaves it looking like this. I used both Soft Sky and Pool Party inks on the sky and Old Olive for the ground. Then I stamped on the flowers using my Basic Gray Classic Pad and colored the flowers using both a Blender Pen and direct marker to paper. Under the button, I cut off the edges of some Victoria Crochet Trim to create the bow underneath. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (an all-time great set!!).
I hope you like my card this week! I’m back tomorrow with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches! So glad you stopped by today. Next week, you really need to come again because the whole Artisan Design Team has a great surprise for you courtesy of Stampin’ Up!

I have a theme this week apparently. Spring!! And Linda‘s fabulous sketch fit right in!! I see another awesome week at Freshly Made Sketches. Is is me or does this challenge get more fun every week??!!
If you saw yesterday’s card, I used this same sentiment. Yeah, I might be a little excited about spring really getting here!! I love the pretty papers in Watercolor Wonder and thought it would be fun to make a card with a bright flower and neutrals on everything else. Well, that DSP has it all! I mimicked the dots from the DSP with the Decorative Dots EF (SAB). The flower used the Pansy, Petite Petals and Boho Blossoms Punches. I spritzed them with a little water then formed them over my Tombow and Crystal Effects caps to get the added dimension.
I have been busily working on my April projects. I get to be a guest for a fun challenge this month (you’ll see more next week) and of course I have all the Artisan Design Team projects. We’ll even have some blog candy coming up later this month on our Artisan Wednesday Wow posts!!
So, I hope it is starting to feel like spring where you are (or to cool off if you are in the southern hemisphere)! I saw my first daffodil yesterday and that made me ready for more flowers! Make sure you check out the wonderful work from the FMS team this week. Another inspiring variety!! Thanks for stopping in. See you soon!

The Artisan Design Team’s April box of products is a celebration of the Occasions Catalog. This catalog really has something for everyone! I suspect you will see that in your hop this week. If you have come over from amazing Jeanna, welcome to the next stop. If you are starting here, just continue around using the next buttons until you get back to me.
I’m saying this very, very carefully but I think it is here for real. HELLO SPRING!!! So happy to see you!! Enough to dedicate a card to you!! The stamps in Springtime Hello are so delicate and pretty. I love them so much. I wanted to find a way to show them off and not have the pretty artwork get lost in the card. So I stamped the flower and bee using Basic Gray Ink onto Naturals Ivory paper. I used my Blender Pen to touch on Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz. Then I created a frame using the Ovals Framelits and stitched around the edges to add a little something special. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray and then sponged Crumb Cake Ink on the frame layer inside and out. The stamped panel was cut to size to hide behind the frame and I attached the two with Dimensionals then attached the entire thing to my base. I added a couple of little pearls to the flower centers for a last pretty detail.
While the colors are muted on this, it feels just like my yard. All the browns are beginning to be dotted with color. And I could not be happier about it! I’m so glad you stopped in to visit today. I’ll be back with another Freshly Made Sketch tomorrow!!

I’m always so happy when it is Wednesday. Because Wednesdays are Freshly Made Sketches day! Jen Mitchell is our hostess this week and she has such a fun sketch for us. The team has shown all kinds of clever ways to use it so I know you’ll find it great to try!
When Cindy Schuster created her adorable card for last week’s Artisan hop, I knew I wanted to use the technique with the fringed tissue. Everything on this card but the stamp is from the Celebrations Add-On Kit from the Occasions Catalog. Yes, it is intended to be an add on for the banners but I just needed to made it into a card! I’m so in love with these prints and colors! The papers are double sided so the Smoky Slate you see on the card is the back side of the Calypso Coral polka dots. For the tissue, I cut it to length (there is a sticky strip already attached) and the filled my spritzer (in the kit) with regular old rubbing alcohol and Calypso Coral reinker. Spritzed, let it dry a bit and then spritzed again. Once the paper had dried (really, let it dry…I started too early), use the Fringe Scissors to cut the tissue. It curls up like this on its own because of the coloring. Cool! The sentiment is from Simply Celebrate and fits perfectly on this tag piece. I “destuck” the tag a bit by putting it on my jeans a few times and then used Dimensionals to pop it up. I like the kit so much that I used it for another card today. It will be a bit before I can post that one though. *smile*
While I completely love all the kits that Stampin’ Up has been creating when they are used as advertised, I really love that they can be used in different ways. It makes them even more of a deal! And I love a deal! Ok…time for you to check out the fabulousness from the design team. There is so much to love!
Thanks so much for stopping in today. If you missed it, please check out my post about Pinterest from last week. Links to the Freshly Made Sketches Team page and other info too! See you again soon!
