Hey Fall for SugarPea Designs

Hey Fall for SugarPea Designs published on 1 Comment on Hey Fall for SugarPea Designs

Hi everyone! Sharing this card that I created for the SugarPea Designs blog. I know we are still in the heat of summer but I thought I would look towards the cooler days of fall for today’s card.

I love the fun images from the Hey Fall Stamp Set and thought I’d just play with them and create a cute scene. I stamped them in Momento Tuxedo Black Ink on white card stock and colored with my Copic Markers. Using the coordinating SugarCut – Hey Fall dies, I cut them out and them started with the placement.

For the top panel, I cut out a rectangle with the SugarCut – Stitched Rectangles from white card stock. With the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil, I added some grass then just added the colored images. To frame the image panel, I used the SugarCut – Stitched Scalloped Rectangles. Finally, using the largest of the Stitched Rectangles for sizing, I created the base.

I hope you enjoy this little taste of cool weather and the pumpkins and scarves. Have a wonderful day! Don’t forget that the End of Summer Sale is running through tomorrow (August 4th). Click on the graphic below for my affiliate link to the sale.

Everything Beachy for Ellen Hutson

Everything Beachy for Ellen Hutson published on 1 Comment on Everything Beachy for Ellen Hutson

Today is release day for the latest from the Summer of Stamping by Ellen Hutson. I’m so happy to share the new Everything Beachy stamp set with you.

The images in this set are ideal for scene building and that is just what I did. I stamped the umbrella, woman and towel and colored them with Copic Markers. Once colored, I fussy cut the images for layering. Next up, I wanted to figure out how to evoke a beach feel without tons more coloring.

To do that, I started with Neenah Desert Storm card stock and inked direct to paper with a Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink Mini. Then I added a bit of texture paste for the surf. Easy and it totally gives an ocean feel. I chose this fun sentiment and cut it using the Nice of You die set (it has something for almost any small straight sentiment!).

Last, I just had to finish the building. I added foam tape underneath all the images and the sentiment. On the umbrella, I doubled the foam tape closest to my bathing beauty to give if a bit of an angle.

I hope you enjoy this inspiration! Make sure you hop over to see all the new products from the release today: Summer of Stamping Release

Framed: Anenomes for Honey Bee Stamps

Sharing today for Honey Bee Stamps! I needed a day just to “play” in the stamp room and I thought I should pull out this new Framed: Anenomes stamp set. It is a gorgeous image and one that can be colored with so many mediums. I chose a very loose watercolor look with Distress Ink.

I stamped the image using Versamark Ink onto Tim Holtz Heavystock paper. It is made for distress ink techniques. For each color, I simply “smooshed” the ink from a mini pad onto a small clear block then added water with a paint brush. I took the block direct to paper to apply the color. Using a small block help you keep a little more control on where the color goes but still leaves it loose. If you need a bit more color in a specific place, you can add it with a paint brush. This is a layering process so leave time to allow drying to happen in between adding colors or additional ink.

Because I love the look of pale anemones, I made the leaves and the background bold and kept the flowers in muted tones of Tattered Rose and Antique Linen. For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed it onto more of the Heavystock paper. Then I colored it with the Chipped Sapphire in the same way as I did the flower except I made sure there was a bit more solid coverage as a base.

I hope you enjoy this card! Let me know if this makes sense or if you would rather see a video on how to create this look. Thanks so much for dropping in today!

Floral Hello for SugarPea Designs

Today I’m up on the SugarPea Designs company blog. I was looking through my underused products and thought I would re-visit the Floral Geo CoverPlate Die today. It is such a gorgeous design and I love that it has a great “stand alone” quality.

I cut the cover from a pretty teal card stock and then used the same color underneath. In order to make the texture stand out, I added a bit of ink to the base. It keeps the tone on tone look but with a bit more pop. And let’s face it, that die does ALL the work!

I pulled out the SugarCut – Hello die, another that I love but that has not gotten enough attention. This script really is just lovely! I used it with some iridescent glitter paper from my stash. In person, the sparkle is really pretty! To keep it clean, I just added on a few gems.

I hope you enjoy this card and will take it as inspiration to pull out of a few of your favorites too! Have a great day.

Using the Sunburst Stencil, I inked up a rainbow of Distress Ink colors. I love how easy it is to create this bold look! The off center design of the sunburst really inspired the rest of the card.

The Sunshine Sentiments and SugarCut – Sunshine Word die created the perfect combination. This message was exactly perfect for my rainbow of colors and one that I hope will inspire you.

I am so happy to be here all week for the SugarPea Designs Summer Release Sweet Peek Week!! This summer release is full of fun products that are perfect for every stamper. And we have team hop, of course, to share inspiration. The release goes live on Friday, July 2nd at 2p Eastern.

Today we are sharing the final three new products: Waves of Love Stamp Set, SugarCut – Waves of Love and SugarCut – Nautical Notions.

This walrus from the Waves of Love sweet cannot help but bring a smile. I used the Nautical Notions life preserver to make a frame. I cut the basic shape and then used the little panel die on a wood patterned paper. I envisioned our walrus friend peeking up from the waves (also a die from Nautical Notions).

I loved the idea of this fellow trying to see what was up with the fish bucket. Of course he ignores the one right by him! There are lots of sentiments that go along with the nautical theme and you are sure to find them all just fabulous.

Today we are sharing three new products: Salty Seagulls Stamp Set, SugarCut – Salty Seagulls and the Sunburst Stencil.

I must say that I laughed so hard when I saw this set. I mean, the seagulls are genius! And the sentiments are hilarious. Using this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge by the lovely Cécile. I stamped the birds, the post and the fries and then colored with Copic Markers.

I chose an ombré piece of patterned paper for my background. I thought the soft blue gray was perfect for the sketch. Around my house I often tell the boys they are “salty dogs” when the teenage attitude shows up. In truth, they are such good boys so I think this will end up as a just because card for one of them.

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week – Day 2

I am so happy to be here all week for the SugarPea Designs Summer Release Sweet Peek Week!! This summer release is full of fun products that are perfect for every stamper. And we have team hop, of course, to share inspiration. The release goes live on Friday, July 2nd at 2p Eastern.

Today we are sharing three new products: SugarCut – Life is a Picnic, Sunshine Sentiments Stamp Set, SugarCut – Sunshine Word.

The starting point for me was this absolutely incredible Life is a Picnic die set. It is so well designed. I love die sets that make it easy to create layers and are not overly complicated. This is just that! Because the dies cut the separate layers, it is easy to color them in different inks and create dimension and detail. I cut the whole set out of Tim Holtz Distress White Heavystock paper. It is great for coloring with Distress Inks. Then I got to getting inky.

You can see how I was able to color the layers with different inks to create real looking items for the basket. Once I had all the pieces colored, I glued them together and thought about a “scene”. Using the Outdoor Scene Stencil for the grass and sky. You even get a little peek into a product that will be revealed tomorrow. For my sentiment, I used the new Sunshine word die and coordinating sentiment set. I hope you like my little summer scene and can’t wait to see what you think about the new products.

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week – Day 1

I am so happy to be here all week for the SugarPea Designs Summer Release Sweet Peek Week!! This spring release is full of fun products that are perfect for every stamper. And we have team hop, of course, to share inspiration. The release goes live on Friday, July 2nd at 2p Eastern.

Today we are sharing four new products: Captain Of My Heart Stamp Set, SugarCut – Captain Of My Heart, Pirate Treasure Map Stencil, and SugarCut – Ahoy.

I started with the Pirate Treasure Map Stencil. On white paper, I brushed on Antique Linen Distress Ink. Then using the stencil, I added details using more Distress Ink colors. I intentionally made a few of them messy and added some water splatters. Then I cut the map out and roughed up the edges a bit. Next up, I stamped images from the Captain Of My Heart set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink.

I had so much fun coloring them with Copic Markers and then cut them out with their coordinating dies. I inked up the base with a bit more Distress Ink and stamped on a sweet sentiment from the set. Love how well this combination works together.

Freshly Made Sketches #491

Freshly Made Sketches #491 published on 6 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #491

We have a fabulous new sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches from the lovely Kim Singdahlsen. I love the bold panels and all the opportunities to create!

I started with this gorgeous print from the Team Tie Dye Paper Pack by Honey Bee Stamps. The coloring fit the sketch perfectly! While I could have just added a sentiment, I thought it might be nice to add a little more interest. So I pulled out the pretty new Wildflowers Stamp Set and added some of the stems and leaves, and of course bees! The My Favorite Flower Stamp Set had the perfect sentiment. I added a few Funfetti Gems to finish this pretty one layer card.

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you enjoy this inspiration and will hop over to join the FMS team this week. See you soon!
