SugarPea Designs Spring Release Sneak Peek – Day 1

SugarPea Designs Spring Release Sneak Peek – Day 1 published on 26 Comments on SugarPea Designs Spring Release Sneak Peek – Day 1

I am so happy to be here all week for the SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek Week!! This spring release is full of fun products that are perfect for every stamper. And we have team hop, of course, to share inspiration. The release goes live on Friday, April 30th at 2p Eastern.

Today we are sharing three new products: Color of Life Stamp Set, Paint Palette SugarCut Dies, and Splash of Color Stamp Set. (**NOTE: Links will not be live until the release is available on Friday, April 30th**)

I knew immediately that the Splash of Color Stamp set was going to be the first thing I used and the card came out exactly as it was in my head! Now, I’ll admit that doesn’t usually happen and it is so great when it does. I love the bright splatters in a rainbow of colors! I just chose a pretty variety and then played with the placement of the splatter images.

I chose this beautiful sentiment from the Color of Life Stamp and I thought it went perfectly with this design. I stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It is hard to capture in the photo but that extra bit of shine helps it pop even more. I added a few shiny black sequins to match and there you have it…a one layer card!

FMS 482 and SPD Mix 78

I’m up on the SugarPea Designs company blog today for the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge #78 and I am also using the Freshly Made Sketches #482 challenge.

Our sketch today uses a slimline format which was fun to use. I used the colors from the Mix It Up challenge for inspiration. With Daniel Smith Watercolor paints, I painted the sketch vertical lines. Don’t you love the granulation on the gray?? I love how it broke into the colors from the inspiration photo!

My paint colors are Shadow Violet, Mayan Dark Blue and Mummy Bauxite. I reached for the Meadow Motifs stamp set (a continued favorite) and painted it with these moody colors. I thought I’d make this a sympathy card since they are always good to have on hand and you never want to have to make it when you need it.

Thanks so much for stopping in. Remember you have a chance to win when you participate in the Mix It Up Challenge! See you soon!

Freshly Made Sketches #481

I have another great Freshly Made Sketches challenge to share with you today. Our lovely Cécile is the sketch designer this week and I think you’ll agree that this one is simply wonderful!

As soon as I saw the sketch, I thought flowers and these little gems from The Greetery’s Hoop Wreath worked perfectly. I inked them with Altenew inks in Pink Diamond and Rubellite and added a sentiment from the same stamp set. I inked the base of the card with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink for a bit more pop.

I hope you will have some crafty time this week and come on over to join us! Thanks so much for stopping in today.

Sweet Sunflowers for Honey Bee Stamps

I’m up on Social Media for Honey Bee Stamps today and wanted to share here too. You will see that I’m kind of of a spring themed roll and just kept with it.

I have loved the idea of uncolored images on a bold background for awhile and thought it was time to give it a try. I inked the Sweet Sunflowers images and then just cut them out with the coordinating dies. I used the Basketweave Stencil to create this ombré background to provide a pop of color and texture. The sentiment is from the Spring Joy Bouquet set and I simply love this one!

Short and sweet today! Hope you have a beautiful day!

Happy Spring for SugarPea Designs

Happy Spring for SugarPea Designs published on No Comments on Happy Spring for SugarPea Designs

Today I have a project for the SugarPea Designs company blog to share with you. I just love the beautiful colors of spring and that was my inspiration for today.

I chose the Open Book SugarCut dies to create the wreath. After inking a piece of watercolor paper with varying green inks, I cut a bunch of the leaves for making the wreath. I cut a few of the other leaf designs too. Then I colored some more paper with pink and yellow and cut the flower pieces.

I glued the wreath together on a silicone mat for easy positioning. Before placing it on the panel, I splattered the background with the green inks. Then I glued it down. The sentiment comes from the Happy Word SugarCut Dies and the Happy Thoughts stamp set.

I hope you enjoy this inspiration. Hop over to the SugarPea Designs Blog for lots more! Thanks for stopping in today.

Freshly Made Sketches #479

Freshly Made Sketches #479 published on 5 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #479

Hi everyone! A new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches today and it is super fun to use. Sketch designer Kim Singdahlsen really gave us a great one this week.

I decided to pull out some products from The Greetery and Honey Bee Stamps for this one. The Summer Sketches flower was my starting point (The Greetery) and I added a sentiment from Sentiment Suite: Birthday Stamp set. The Nordic Frames Dies seemed just right for the sketch and I used that on the sentiment panel for extra detail. After first wanting to go all white on the card base, I realized it was just a little too clean even for me. So I added the Basketweave Background Stencil with the same green ink (Altenew) in the leaves. A few pearls from my stash and done!

I hope you have a great week and will be able to join us for the challenge. Thanks so much for stopping in today! See you soon!

Love You S’more for Honey Bee Stamps

Love You S’more for Honey Bee Stamps published on 5 Comments on Love You S’more for Honey Bee Stamps

As promised, a new card for the Honey Bee Stamps Social Media Team. And conveniently, it is time for the 2021 Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. The perfect match!

I chose the Love You S’more stamp set since it has this adorable coffee image and I do love the sentiment from the same set. I used the stripes from the Birthday Bash papers and added a bit of texture with the Quilted A2 Cover Plate (that I just cut down a bit).

I hope you like this fun card! Today is the last day of the Coffee Lovers Hop and make sure you go over to see all the inspiration there! And for all who have been patient with me being gone over the last weeks, here is a photo of my final sign off flight to be a Captain on the Airbus!

Freshly Made Sketches #478

Freshly Made Sketches #478 published on 10 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #478

Super quick post for today to share the latest from Freshly Made Sketches and SugarPea Designs. I am the sketch designer for FMS this week and I, um, conveniently “aligned” the sketch with the one for SPD. Yeah, I know…but I opted for smarter not harder.

I kept this super clean and just focused on the soft colors from the SugarPea Mix It Up inspiration. I cut the flowers and leaves with the Open Book dies and then colored them with watercolors. I chose a soft gray base to keep with the palette.

I chose some pretty papers from a Honey Bee Stamps Paper Pack for the pink and yellow and then added a few pink pearls from my stash.

I’ll be back on Friday for a project for Honey Bee Stamps. Until then, back out later today to finish my sign off on my upgrade. Thanks for stopping in today! See you soon.

Flowers for You – Gina K Designs

Well, as I told you, been a bit quiet here. If all moves along as scheduled, I’ll be finishing my training in Denver today. A pesky blizzard has impacted our training center so there is a chance of delay but here’s hoping all is successfully accomplished by the end of the day.

I created this card before I left and it is the last one I have for you. I cannot wait to have some creative time when I get home!

I started with the Flowers for You set by Gina K Designs. This was part of her latest release and I was thrilled to be able to join in the launch. I stamped this with Distress Ink in Antique Linen onto Fabriano Cold Press paper. Then I just played with no-line watercoloring.

I feel like this kind of coloring is still a work in process for me but I do love the look so much. So…practice, practice, practice! It helps with the image is as pretty as this one! The sentiment comes from the same set and there are many to choose from.

Thanks for stopping in today! I hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

Spring Joy Bouquet for Honey Bee Stamps

Spring Joy Bouquet for Honey Bee Stamps published on No Comments on Spring Joy Bouquet for Honey Bee Stamps

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be sharing a project I created for the Honey Bee Designs Social Media Team. I suspect right now everyone is ready for a touch of spring and this seemed the perfect way to share some.

I used the Spring Joy Bouquet stamp set and coordinating dies for the pretty bouquet. I love tulips so much and this lovely image designed by the amazing Emily Midgett was wonderful to color. I added the Floral Bouquet Wrap Die that cut out some tissue paper for the flowers and tied it up with some ribbon from my stash.

To add a little additional dimension, I used one of the Quatrefoil Layers Stencil with Speckled Egg Distress Ink. Such a quick and easy way to add so much to a card!

Short and sweet! Training is moving along well and I’m hoping to be done with this part of it on Monday. I’m in Denver though, so the big snow event could impact our training center. I’ll be back on Monday for one more card that I made before leaving. Until then, have a wonderful weekend!
