Warmest Wishes – SugarPea Designs

Warmest Wishes – SugarPea Designs published on 1 Comment on Warmest Wishes – SugarPea Designs

Two posts today and this is the first one! I’m sharing my inspiration card for this month’s Mix It Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs. I love the sweet photo and color combination. The sketch is awesome too!

I chose to make this just a winter themed card using the colors and (mostly) the sketch. My favorite little snowflakes are the star of the show. Flurry of Warm Wishes has such delicate images and they were perfect to showcase. I stamped them on kraft card stock using Versamark ink. I inked up some card stock with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink and stamped on one of the flakes in Espresso ink. A quick cut with a circle die and I had a focal point. My go-to sentiment set, Everyday Sentiments, had just the right choice, of course. I stamped it in Espresso too in order for it to stand out a bit more. I loved the burlap in the image so I thought it would be a nice textural touch on the card. Finally I added a few red sequins.

I hope you enjoy this sweet card as inspiration! You can still join the challenge for a chance to win! See you in a bit for another card.

Love Letters Sneak Peek Day 2 – Honey Bee Stamps

Welcome back for day 2 of Honey Bee Stamps‘ Love Letters Sneak Peek. It is available starting January 2nd at 11a EST.

For today my featured products are Hugs Enclosed Stamps and Dies, the Quilted A2 Cover Plate Die plus the new Love Letters Paper Pad. (Release links will be live on January 2nd)

This fun set is perfect for anyone who needs a hug in the mail! There is a large background style stamp in the set that I used on the envelope flap and then envelopes that are individual with their own dies. I used just one of them and stamped then Copic colored three of them. The dies cut them out easily. The sentiment is from the same set with the coordinating dies. Stamped in Versamark on black card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

For the background of the card, I chose one of the papers from the new pad and used the Quilted die to add a bit of texture. I tied on a little bit of coordinating twine to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping in today. I hope you enjoy this peek. I’ll be back tomorrow with day 3 peeks.

I am excited to be a part of a Sneak Peek and Release Week with Honey Bee Stamps and today is Day 1. This whole release (and it is a full release with tons of products!) is amazing. It is available starting on January 2nd at 11a EST.

My featured products today are the To My Butter Half Stamps and Dies. (These release links will not be live until January 2nd)

This adorable set features fun images and interchangeable faces to add (or leave off). I am not gonna’ lie when I say I laughed and ran to show my kids this set. You see, I tell them this ALL THE TIME!!! Not sure when it started but when they do something particularly helpful, I tell them they are good eggs. Needless to say, this will go into heavy rotation for family cards.

I stamped the images in Momento Tuxedo Black and then Copic colored them. At first I did the images without the faces but in the end, could not resist the cuteness factor created by adding them. I thought this great pattern from the Birthday Bash Paper Pad was a perfect way to add fun to the card without taking away from the images. I love how the dies in the set cut out the sentiments! This feature is so helpful in card designs with patterned papers.

Thanks for joining me for this Day 1 Peek. I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 2.

As we approach the end of the year, I am happy to share with you the last sketch of 2020 from Freshly Made Sketches. I am the sketch designer and I hope it is one you will enjoy over the next few weeks.

To be very honest with you, I am really behind on Christmas cards. I probably will have a seriously curtailed mailing this year but I think we all just have to pick what gives. When I designed this sketch, I had another stamp configuration in mind but I thought this set was too good to pass up! Pretty much ignored the sentiment placing on my own sketch. Yep, a 2020 move for sure.

I pulled out the Sparkle and Shine Kit from Gina K Designs. I love this snowflake and decided to heat emboss it and one of the coordinating sentiments. But which color? Clearly, I could not decide so I just made three of them. I used three of the colors from Gina K’s Glitter Card Stock as accents and then three colors of Wow Embossing Powder.

Since gold was my youngest son’s favorite, I thought I’d show it a bit closer. As always with metallics and glitter, it is hard to capture all that you see in person. The key to the “production line” on this was dueling MISTIs. I had one set up with the snowflake and one with the sentiment. I stamped them each with Versamark and then added the embossing powder, then heated. Once I had it set up, making multiples was the obvious choice.

I hope you will have some time for crafting over the next few weeks. This sketch will remain open until January 4th so come over and play along. I’m off to finish a few more cards and then I’ll be moving on with some new things for the new year. Thank you so much for stopping in. Please remain safe! See you soon.

Christmas Star for Erin Lee Creative

Christmas Star for Erin Lee Creative published on 1 Comment on Christmas Star for Erin Lee Creative

I’m up on the Erin Lee Creative blog today with this last minute Christmas card idea. I love when a die does most of the work for you!

In the case of this Circle Burst Die, I went a bit out of the box. I cut it from some glitter paper to create an abstract star in the night sky. As I was adhering the circle, I worked to ensure a tiny bit of space between the triangles to evoke the rays from the bright Christmas star.

I used some textured glimmer paper from my stash to continue the shine. The sentiment comes from Winter Florals and seemed perfectly sized. Finally, I found a big gem from my stash that worked perfectly to complete the card. Depending on what you already have, you can vary this to complete a stack of cards in no time.

I hope you enjoy the inspiration! Let me know what you think about my abstract idea. Back on Wednesday for our last Freshly Made Sketches challenge of the year. See you then.

Peace and Joy

Hi everyone! I’m up on the SugarPea Designs blog today with a Christmas card using products in a whole different way than intended!

I pulled out the SugarCut – Piece of Cake dies again to create this Christmas tree cut out. I simply cut the triangle first, then put the banner in place to create the trunk. Super easy way to multi-purpose your dies. I debated a few options to fill the tree but ultimately decided that a shaker was the best. I mean, who doesn’t love a shaker card?!

I put down acetate under the tree cutout to start. Then I lined foam tape around the tree and filled with sequins from my stash. I placed a panel of the same card stock as the base over the whole thing to create a self-contained shaker. For me this is easier than trying to build it onto the base itself. I attached the entire thing to the base with Tombow Glue to make sure it really held (since it is a bit heavy). I stamped the sentiment from Flurry of Warm Wishes in gray ink and added that panel to the card.

I hope you enjoy this inspiration today. I think I’ll be making some more of these. Maybe with some glitter paper to fill the tree instead. Thanks for stopping in today. See you again soon!

Happy Thanksgiving Week to those of you in the US! I hope you are all safe, first and foremost! While this is not the holiday many of us want, I pray for us all to stay vigilant and follow whatever best guidance you have for your area. If nothing else, I hope that you have a bit of down time and time to craft. Our new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is fun for using your papers or maybe even some other elements. The lovely Amy O’Neill is the sketch designer so of course it is fun!

I continued playing with the Gina K Designs Sparkle and Shine Kit and used the Holiday Tapestry Stamp Set from the kit. The rectangle stamp had such a pretty design that I thought it would be nice for the panels under the sentiment. I also love that this set has a Hanukkah stamp. I didn’t have one in my repertoire and so happy I do now.

So glad you stopped in today. I am so incredibly thankful for each of you!

Happy middle of the week! Here with our weekly challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch designer is Narelle Farrugia and this one is really fun. Go read about her inspiration for the sketch too…I love how we can be inspired to create by so many things.

If any of you have ever tried to get good photos of glitter and embossing, you are now feeling my pain! *smile* This card is all about shimmer and shine and my camera just cannot capture it in its full glory. But you get the idea. I used products by Gina K Designs today. The Double Stitched Squares were my logical starting place for the sketch and then I went all in on the Sparkle and Shine Kit. The snowflakes dies come from the kit and I used them on gold Glitter Card Stock. The sentiment is from the Holiday Tapestry set from the kit. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

I hope you will come over and join us this week. It is always such a joy to scroll through the gallery looking at your beautiful creations. Thanks for stopping in today! See you soon.

I am so excited to be joining in on Tracey McNeely’s 25 Days of Christmas Tags! Today’s featured sponsor is Honey Bee Stamps.

I have long been a fan of Honey Bee Stamps and one of my all-time favorite Christmas images is from them! The best snowman ever is from the Let It Snow set.

I stamped our little friend in Momento Ink and did a quick color with Copic Markers. I brushed some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink onto white card stock and cut two tags from the same piece. After splattering them a bit for depth I simply added the snowman and some flakes from the set. The sentiment comes from the same stamp set and I stamped it on red card stock in Versamark Ink, then heat embossed in white. The rectangle die is from the coordinating Let It Snow Honey Cuts, along with the dies to cut out all the stamped images. I added a bit of red ribbon and twine from my stash to finish.

There are all kinds of ways to win so head on over to Tracey’s main post for all the details! So many prizes and giveaways!

Thanks for stopping in today! So happy to have been able to join the fun. See you soon!
