The Card Concept #59

The Card Concept #59 published on 9 Comments on The Card Concept #59

Jen Timko - CC59It is time for a new challenge at The Card Concept and I’m so excited to share my Clean and Graphic card.  Our inspiration this week is such fun and I was thought I would use the colors to create my card.

I thought the flower from You Are Enough (Concord and 9th) would be perfect for playing with color.  I stamped on Fabriano Watercolor Paper using WPlus9 Black Ink.  Then I colored using two of Stampin’ Up’s In Colors, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum.  I added a little Tip Top Taupe (mostly because I love the name, haha) to mimic the neutral of the ice cream cone in the photo.  I added a sentiment from Lovely (Essentials by Ellen) and some sequins from an old Paper Pumpkin kit.  I put the watercolor panel on a Flirty Flamingo card base.Jen Timko - CC59 - Closeup

Here is a closeup of how the colors blended.  So pretty together!  I kept going back in layers to get the variations.  This is one of the best things about watercoloring for me.  You never quite know how colors will blend and each time you create, the result will be different.  I was totally right about this flower being the perfect image!!

The challenge page has so many beautiful pieces by the design team in all the different styles.  You are going to be in awe!  Just a note, this is my second post for the day.  My Freshly Made Sketches post was up first.  I hope you like my two projects today.  Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
