Welcome back for another Wednesday challenge from Freshly Made Sketches! This week’s sketch is courtesy of Linda Callahan from Stampin’ Seasons. She is a remarkably talented stamper and her sketch has so many fantastic possibilities.
I figured it was time to pull out a Christmas card for you so here is my tall snowman from Snow Much Fun. I will warn you about the hazards of stamping with people like the design team at FMS. I had resisted this set all the way until my last order. After I saw SO MANY cute cards, I realized that “resistance is futile”!! So…here he is! The best part is that the watercoloring takes almost no time at all. Fabulous! Now in order to make this guy work for the sketch, I had to, um, cut off his legs. There are some (Karen Barber – who also had a hilarious set of cards about the two snowmen) that believe snowmen should not have legs. Frankly, I can see the virtues of both but today losing them worked. I made this card with Basic Black, Real Red and Baja Breeze. I find that I don’t use black nearly enough and since it was already out from yesterday’s card, it seemed perfect. I added a little dimension by embossing the Real Red layer with the Snow Burst Embossing Folder. Some little snowflakes finished it up (another enabled purchase…these ladies are dangerous!). I colored a Basic Pearl with a Sharpie Marker to make it coordinate. Cool!
I’ll be back tomorrow with a card from my Christmas Wow Class this week. Yep…another snow man! Thanks for dropping by today. Don’t forget to drop by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge to see the amazing cards from the whole team. Hope you can play this week!

This snowman is adorable – love how he is framed! And the Baja Blue looks wonderful here! Perfect holiday card! And thanks for all of the kind words 🙂
Those colors look amazing with that stamp set! I love the clean lines of this one; I wish I wasn’t so terrified of using that much white on a card. I’m glad you gave in and got this set. 🙂
Too funny! and cute even without legs!!!! I have to admit I don’t have that set….must….resist…..buying……. lol
I’m not ashamed to say that I had to dig out this stamp set and check out this fellow’s legs. Yup, he’s got ’em. I’ve got to admit it does seem a little weird! But not so weird that I’m not going to shamelessly steal this idea and remake tons of cards just like it. The colors are fabulous and the real red layer embossed with the snow burst embossing folder sealed the deal for me. Now who’s the enabler, hmmmm?
Great card! like the color combo and that Snowman stamp is to cute. Like that you turned the sketch.
This is soo adorable Jen …. he is such a cute little character and I love your clean simple layers … bold, stunning and clean!!!
Oh, BTW ….I think he looks perfect just as you have him – without legs!!! But, what do I know – it never ever snows where I am from!!!
Oh I love those BOLD bright colours Jen! Love him legless and none of our snowmen here have legs either, although I am sure they could be added. Had some snow yesterday…gasp! We hardly ever get snow, so the kids were sure excited!!
Great card Jen!
Hugs,
Lesley
I think your snowman look great without legs too. Wonderful clean card, love the colours you chose.
One word, stunning! ok, maybe two more words – darned cute! I love the snowman and your watercoloring of him. He looks fabulous and the black really finishes off the card really well. I should reach for my black more often since it really makes everything pop as evidenced by your stunning and darned cute card. 🙂
So glad you finally caved in and bought the stamp set. I can’t imagine going through the entire season without this one. I love the colours that you used and the snowflake. TFS

So cute Jennifer! I never met a snowman I didn’t love! Thanks for the inspiration!
