I’m up today over at the Newton’s Nook Designs blog today and I want to share all the details with you here. My project focuses on the Beautiful Plumage stamp and coordinating dies.
When I first showed you this set in release week, I focused on one of the pretty peacock images. I thought for today, I could show you a way to use the little feathers and also show off this fabulous sentiment from the set. I stamped the feathers in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copic Markers. I just played with colors that I thought you’d find on actual peacock feathers and these were fun to blend together. The dies make short work of cutting out the detailed images! I took some Thick Whisper White card stock and applied some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers (of course!) and then cut out a stitched oval. I stamped on this sentiment which I think is really awesome for so many people. I LOVE people who have lots of color and character, don’t you? One of my boys saw this and claimed it as a card for his birthday. Maybe that is a good sign for a teenager. Because to me, being colorful is also embracing being unique.
Because Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge is showcasing Newton’s Nook Designs with an Anything Goes challenge, I’ll be linking this in there as well. Thanks so much for stopping in to visit. Back tomorrow with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. Wishing you a colorful day!
