Journey Together – Honey Bee Stamps

Journey Together – Honey Bee Stamps published on No Comments on Journey Together – Honey Bee Stamps

Happy Friday! Today I have a card to share with products from Honey Bee Stamps. The latest release was called Love Letters and my card today used a number of items from that release.

I fell in love with this adorable Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set and Honeycut Dies. I chose the bike image but there is a moped one too…such fun! And there are tons of little add-on pieces that give you tons of options. I’m not huge on sappy Valentine’s cards for my husband but this set seemed to hit just the right note. I gave “me” a cute little beret and “my husband” the sunglasses (which he always wears). A little bread and wine too!

I thought this would work well on a slimline card and pulled out Honey Bee Stamps’ slimline products. First off, I used the Horizon Slimline Borders to create a road for the bike and then the grass too. I thought the Wispy Clouds Honeycut was a nice add for the sky. The sentiment from the stamp set is perfect and I really love it for my husband. And I’m such a fan of dies that can cut the sentiments. I created the decorative panel smaller so that I could show off the stitching in the Slimline Sentiments: Stitched Honeycut.

I had a ton of fun creating this and look forward to playing with this stamp more. I hope you enjoy this one. Thanks so much for stopping in. I’ll see you next week!

So Grateful – SugarPea Designs

A quick share today for a project I created for a feature over at the SugarPea Designs. I wanted to make a card that felt like a bit of winter but with a nod to spring coming.

I started with the SugarCut – Birch Forest die. I love this die and thought a bit of coloring on it would be fun to try. So I cut it out of white card stock and then did a bit of Copic coloring. I kept it a bit watercolor-ish and tried not to over think it. I used some spring greens along with warm greys to get the feel of birch trees in spring. To keep the focus on the die, I used some kraft card stock for the base. The sentiment comes from the Floral Envie Stamp Set and I love the combination of fonts. I thought it needed something else and finally settled on some twine.

I hope you enjoy this card. I had such fun playing around with this fabulous die and I hope you’ll give it a try too! Thanks so much for stopping in today. See you again soon.

Freshly Made Sketches #467

Freshly Made Sketches #467 published on 5 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #467

Welcome back to the new year of Freshly Made Sketches challenges! We are starting off right with a bit of “slimming down”. Yep, Jen Mitchell created a clever slimline sketch for the new year.

I pulled out the new Love You S’more stamp set from the Love Letters release by Honey Bee Stamps. I didn’t use it during the sneak peeks so it seemed like a good time to show it. I stamped the images in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and Copic colored. I found a fun pattern in the Birthday Bash patterned paper and cut it to a slimline profile. Not quite the full slimline classic but 6″x3″ to accommodate the paper.

In case you missed my Instagram post yesterday, I wanted to do a quick share on a card I made specifically for an IG Hop with Honey Bee Stamps. There is a chance to win so please go over and check it out.

Thanks for stopping in today. So happy you dropped by. Back to flying a bit more this week so I’ll have a few days off. See you soon!

Love Letters Release Day – Honey Bee Stamps

Love Letters Release Day – Honey Bee Stamps published on No Comments on Love Letters Release Day – Honey Bee Stamps

Today is release day for the Love Letters by Honey Bee Stamps! I have timed this post so that the links and shopping should be live tonight. Believe it or not, even more products are being shown today and I’m excited to share the Adore Dies (that have a coordinating stamp set).

I love the layering feature of the dies and thought I’d create a card that really focused on them. I inked some Bristol Smooth with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink and cut out with the word dies. Then I cut some vellum with the dotted accent dies. So pretty together!! I used the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine Dies in the background to create a tone on tone texture. I love this effect! To keep the balance and make plenty of room for details and “white” space, I created this card in a slimline format (8.5″ x 3.5″). These are really wonderful in person and still fit in a standard priced envelope (this one is Gina K ). I hope you are inspired to give this size a try!

I hope you will go visit the Honey Bee Stamps site and check out all the new products. This is a spectacular new release! I hope you have enjoyed my cards for the peeks this week. Thanks so much for joining me!

Love Letters Sneak Peek Day 3 – Honey Bee Stamps

Welcome back for day 3 of the Love Letters Release Sneak Peek from Honey Bee Stamps! The release will go live on January 2nd at 11a EST.

I get to show you a wonderful new die set today, the Lovely Layers: Heart Vine Dies which I combined with the new Love You Bunches stamp set. (A reminder that the links go live with the release on January 2nd)

Between the pattern paper and the dies, I almost had no work on this card! I cut the dies first using white for the base vine and the Birthday Bash Patterned Paper for the top vine. I glued them together and then started working on what I would do with them. The answer came pretty quickly! All I did was use the reverse design of the paper! I pulled one of the new sentiments from Love You Bunches and heat embossed with white embossing powder. To get a little extra dimension on the vines, I cut another base vine and stacked them. I added few sequins from my stash and done!

This release goes live on January 2nd but TODAY there is a big sale!! Click the banner above to shop with my affiliate links (and I so appreciate when you do!) or SHOP HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping in today! I have a short break tomorrow and then I’m back for release day on Saturday! Please be safe as you celebrate the new year. We can agree that 2020 can move on along but I want to make sure you are all happy and healthy in 2021. See you soon!

Warmest Wishes – SugarPea Designs

Two posts today and this is the first one! I’m sharing my inspiration card for this month’s Mix It Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs. I love the sweet photo and color combination. The sketch is awesome too!

I chose to make this just a winter themed card using the colors and (mostly) the sketch. My favorite little snowflakes are the star of the show. Flurry of Warm Wishes has such delicate images and they were perfect to showcase. I stamped them on kraft card stock using Versamark ink. I inked up some card stock with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink and stamped on one of the flakes in Espresso ink. A quick cut with a circle die and I had a focal point. My go-to sentiment set, Everyday Sentiments, had just the right choice, of course. I stamped it in Espresso too in order for it to stand out a bit more. I loved the burlap in the image so I thought it would be a nice textural touch on the card. Finally I added a few red sequins.

I hope you enjoy this sweet card as inspiration! You can still join the challenge for a chance to win! See you in a bit for another card.

Love Letters Sneak Peek Day 2 – Honey Bee Stamps

Welcome back for day 2 of Honey Bee Stamps‘ Love Letters Sneak Peek. It is available starting January 2nd at 11a EST.

For today my featured products are Hugs Enclosed Stamps and Dies, the Quilted A2 Cover Plate Die plus the new Love Letters Paper Pad. (Release links will be live on January 2nd)

This fun set is perfect for anyone who needs a hug in the mail! There is a large background style stamp in the set that I used on the envelope flap and then envelopes that are individual with their own dies. I used just one of them and stamped then Copic colored three of them. The dies cut them out easily. The sentiment is from the same set with the coordinating dies. Stamped in Versamark on black card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

For the background of the card, I chose one of the papers from the new pad and used the Quilted die to add a bit of texture. I tied on a little bit of coordinating twine to finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping in today. I hope you enjoy this peek. I’ll be back tomorrow with day 3 peeks.

Love Letters Sneak Peek Day 1 – Honey Bee Stamps

Love Letters Sneak Peek Day 1 – Honey Bee Stamps published on No Comments on Love Letters Sneak Peek Day 1 – Honey Bee Stamps

I am excited to be a part of a Sneak Peek and Release Week with Honey Bee Stamps and today is Day 1. This whole release (and it is a full release with tons of products!) is amazing. It is available starting on January 2nd at 11a EST.

My featured products today are the To My Butter Half Stamps and Dies. (These release links will not be live until January 2nd)

This adorable set features fun images and interchangeable faces to add (or leave off). I am not gonna’ lie when I say I laughed and ran to show my kids this set. You see, I tell them this ALL THE TIME!!! Not sure when it started but when they do something particularly helpful, I tell them they are good eggs. Needless to say, this will go into heavy rotation for family cards.

I stamped the images in Momento Tuxedo Black and then Copic colored them. At first I did the images without the faces but in the end, could not resist the cuteness factor created by adding them. I thought this great pattern from the Birthday Bash Paper Pad was a perfect way to add fun to the card without taking away from the images. I love how the dies in the set cut out the sentiments! This feature is so helpful in card designs with patterned papers.

Thanks for joining me for this Day 1 Peek. I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 2.

Freshly Made Sketches #466

Freshly Made Sketches #466 published on 8 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #466

As we approach the end of the year, I am happy to share with you the last sketch of 2020 from Freshly Made Sketches. I am the sketch designer and I hope it is one you will enjoy over the next few weeks.

To be very honest with you, I am really behind on Christmas cards. I probably will have a seriously curtailed mailing this year but I think we all just have to pick what gives. When I designed this sketch, I had another stamp configuration in mind but I thought this set was too good to pass up! Pretty much ignored the sentiment placing on my own sketch. Yep, a 2020 move for sure.

I pulled out the Sparkle and Shine Kit from Gina K Designs. I love this snowflake and decided to heat emboss it and one of the coordinating sentiments. But which color? Clearly, I could not decide so I just made three of them. I used three of the colors from Gina K’s Glitter Card Stock as accents and then three colors of Wow Embossing Powder.

Since gold was my youngest son’s favorite, I thought I’d show it a bit closer. As always with metallics and glitter, it is hard to capture all that you see in person. The key to the “production line” on this was dueling MISTIs. I had one set up with the snowflake and one with the sentiment. I stamped them each with Versamark and then added the embossing powder, then heated. Once I had it set up, making multiples was the obvious choice.

I hope you will have some time for crafting over the next few weeks. This sketch will remain open until January 4th so come over and play along. I’m off to finish a few more cards and then I’ll be moving on with some new things for the new year. Thank you so much for stopping in. Please remain safe! See you soon.
