Happy New Year to all of you! I hope that the beginning of your 2012 is off to a great start. I do not have a card for you today but wanted to share some exciting news. Most of you know that I am a pilot for United Airlines. I have been on leave for over three years. This is partly because United Airlines has many pilots still laid off and my schedule would be less than wonderful. It is partly because my husband is in the Air National Guard and flies long trips. The time has come for United to ask me to return to flying. As of today, I am back on the books at the company. With three years off I have lots of training to do, of course, and some of that will start on Wednesday. I will be flying the Airbus 319/320 (which I was flying when I took my leave of absence) with mostly domestic US flying (some Canadian, Mexican and Caribbean routes).
What does this mean for my stamping?? Not much really. You haven’t seen much in the way of posting over the last couple of weeks. Some of that is the typical holiday schedule with little time to post. Much of it though is that I have been getting ahead. I will continue my design team work with both SUO Challenges and Freshly Made Sketches. I will continue to be a Stampin’ Up demonstrator as well. I love the products from Stampin’ Up and my stamping customers are so supportive of my non-stamping work. I have a one-month training period starting on Jan. 17th that will be academically intensive so you can expect to see nothing other than design team work during that time. I hope to “sneak” in something here and there but it is hard to predict when.
Thanks for all the support you give me in my creative efforts. I find that my stamping and the people in this crafting community bring such joy to my life. I look forward to continuing these “adventures in stamping” with you.
Oh, I almost forgot…I also got a brand new computer for Christmas…a MacBook Pro!! I have always been a Windows user so my learning curve is steep. Bear with me as I learn how to edit photos with my new toy! Happy and safe new year to all of you! I’m stamping today so with any luck, I’ll have a card to show you with some of Stampin’ Up’s latest products tomorrow!

You lead an exciting life. I just sold my 150 as that part of our life is gone and on to new adventures. Looking forward to your 2012 posts.
Wow! Lots of changes in your world! I wish you the best of luck making the transition back to out-of-the-house work. I’m sure it will be rewarding. I also look forward to seeing more of your creations.
Wishing you the best during the transition and the return to flying. May they only send you to sunny, warm (i.e. no waiting for the wings to be de-iced) kinds of places 🙂
p.s. I hope you will love your MAC as much as I love mine. One of the coolest tricks is command-shift-4; it gives you the ability to select an area and as soon as you release the click of the mouse, it saves the image onto your desktop. So easy to capture screens and ideas this way!
Good luck & best wishes!! If your routes ever take you to the Los Angeles area let me know. Otherwise I hope to continue seeing you online! Be sure to load MDS on that new Mac to take along with you. And thank goodness the Clear Mount stamps are light 🙂
Best wishes Jen!
Good luck, and look forward to when we can hang out IRL!
Congrats on so many levels Jen!!! I am sure you never fly to my neck of the woods, so I will have to continue to “see” you here 🙂
Wow those are some pretty big changes~and I though going back to work after a week and a half off was going to be hard! Good luck!
Lord’s blessings on your big changes! They sound fun and scary all at the same time!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as you transition back into flying! You know how to reach me if you need to talk, vent, bounce ideas, whatnot. 😉
[…] day back at United Airlines for me. Wish me luck in going back to “school” (more here if you missed the announcement)! Thanks for stopping in today. See you […]
Love your design and your blog, congrats on the job and I am grateful you will still be creating awesome cards to share!
I hope you have a smooth transition as you head back to work! Best of Luck to you! And what a fun new toy!
Hi there,
best of luck with your return to the skies! I am a stampin up demo and an aircraft maintenance engineer, always travelling and on the go as well. Certainly represents unique challenges, but the aviation industry is so full of testosterone that I find stamping brings the estrogen, so the best of both worlds LOL. Love your blog header, being in the industry I noticed it right away and can certainly relate to your challenges. so you go girl, a little nerve racking after being on the ground for 3 years I can imagine? We women are resilient, I am sure you will do great. I look forward to reading more posts~
Best wishes on your training and transition back to flying. Hope all goes well for you.
WOW! you’ll be living at speeds faster than us slower turtles. You go girl!
