Freshly Made Sketches #689

Freshly Made Sketches #689 published on 5 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #689

The unofficial start of summer has arrived! Our weather has still been a bit spring-like and those are the colors I have used for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Our sketch designer, Cécile Ribon, always has the most modern and fabulous cards so naturally her sketch is fabulous.

This card is for a dear friend’s daughter who just graduated from high school. The young women wear all white dresses (an all girls school) for commencement so I thought a more elevated card was in order. I stuck to a “script” and used the beautiful Flowers for the Soul Washi Tape (Pinkfresh Studio) again. Great for so many cards!! I pulled an old card stock from my stash and embossed with the Spring Medley 3D Embossing Folder.

For the center medallion, I chose this pretty shape from the Always and Forever product suite (Honey Bee Stamps). The sentiment is from the same suite. I added some gold pearls to add to the elegance of the gold on the washi.

Hope that you will come over to see the amazing work from the team and join our fun this week. Thanks for stopping in today!

A little late to post this here but a quick share of my card for the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. This fun one by Narelle had me pulling out that new washi tape again. So fun!

The Flowers for the Soul washi remains the star of the show. Just smooth it over some white card stock and cut with the coordinating dies (links below). I thought this Nectar card stock from Concord and 9th was the perfect background color.

I used the Rustic Brick 3D Embossing folder for some interest behind the flowers and added a gold embossed sentiment from the Mini Messages set. Some gold pearls to finish and match the sketch.

Sorry about the delay. Lots of flying and with all the weather, the time I thought I had for posting on a layover well…that didn’t happen. Have a great weekend!

Hi all! Been a busy week here. I have a sick kitty who is taking a bit of my time and my oldest came home for a quick trip so it was nice to spend some time with him. I did get in a tiny bit of crafting for Freshly Made Sketches and had a fun time using some new products for this sketch by our wonderful Karren.

I recently got the Flowers for the Soul suite of products from Pinkfresh Studio that was designed by Dawn Woleslagle. I learned with the holiday release that I really do love the quick results that come from the washi tape and quick was what I needed this week. All I had to do was attach the tape to some white card stock and cut with the coordinating dies.

After cutting out a bunch of the images, I just started playing around. I also got the Essentials: Elegant Circles dies from the new release and thought it would be perfect with the sketch. The sentiment is from the stamp set and is heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The edge die behind the banner is a retired die from Pinkfresh Studio.

Hope you are having a good week and that you get to spend a little time creating. Thanks for stopping in. See you soon!

Hi everyone! Happy end of August!! I know it has been kind of forever since I posted but, as I suspected, my month was really taken over by getting ready for the youngest to leave for college. He went a week ago, and then my “emotional support college senior” left on Sunday. Now the real quiet begins. Oh my!! Good thing I have stamping to do and new products to use! I’m the sketch designer at Freshly Made Sketches this week and I chose something that was simple for my brain to handle. And conveniently, it worked with some new products.

When I saw this gorgeous new suite of products from Dawn Woleslagle for PinkFresh Studio, I knew it would be perfect for some of my holiday crafting. She created a stamp and die set but also a coordinating washi tape that can be used with the dies too. This makes for quick cards and an easy way to create multiples that still feel fancy. For this card, I used the washi and put it down on white card stock, then cut it out with the dies. I did doubles of all the images (since it is so fast) so I’d have lots of pieces to play with. Didn’t need a lot for this but now I have them for the next time I sit to create! I created a wreath by layering the die cuts and then got to choosing how to finish the card.

I found this pretty print in the Holiday Wishes Paper Pack by Honey Bee Stamps that was perfect! It mirrors the gold in the washi tape and I love the pattern. I stamped the sentiment (from Dawn’s stamp set) and heat embossed with gold. To complete the sketch, I used some of my Gold Card Stock from Erin Lee Creative (she has some of the BEST papers!) along the edge of the patterned paper. Some gold pearls to finish.

This was a fun way to get back into the craft room after such a long hiatus. I look forward to getting some more crafting fun in over the next week as I adjust to the empty nest. Thanks so much for stopping in today. Hope you can come over and join us with my sketch! See you soon.
