I’m over at the SugarPea Designs blog with a new project today. I created a Christmas card for you using products not specifically for the holidays.
I started the card by creating the base detail with the Falling Snow Stencil. First I embossed with the stencil running it through my Gemini Jr., then I sponged a little bit of white ink over the texture to add more detail. Next up, I used the triangle from the SugarCut – Piece of Cake set. Then I used one of the box dies to score another larger triangle which I just cut on the score line. Finally, I used the small flag die for the trunks. They were all cut from watercolor paper and I inked them with Distress Oxide Ink.
I chose the sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set and cut it out using the SugarCut – Sentiment Strips. I decorated the trees with stars from the box set and cut them from glitter paper. Such a fun and easy way to create a holiday card!
I love that this used things that are not intended for holiday cards. Multi-tasking of products is a big thing for me because you get the best value from your craft dollar. Thanks so much for stopping in today. See you again soon.
I have a fun project for today! My friend Michelle Lupton invited me to join her in her October Series, CASE Me a Christmas Card. Each of us chooses a card made by the other and then CASE (Copy and Share Everything) it. I always consider the rule of three when CASEing, trying to change at least three things. Michelle has a fun acronym that she uses, LIMES. Go over to see how she does it! Super smart.
I used a wonderful stamp set by SugarPea Designs for my card today. I love these snowflakes and I’m ready to make some holiday themed cards! I thought they were the perfect set to pull out when I chose my card by Michelle.
I love the pop of black against the pretty inked background so I kept that feature. I chose to make it a square instead and inked on Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink. Using the snowflakes instead of the flowers was an easy switch. For the sentiment, I kept to a white banner instead of black. On hers she added Wink of Stella for some sparkle. I chose to add a few sequins instead.
I love this idea and it is fun to be inspired by one of my favorite card makers! Now I cannot wait to see which of my cards she CASE’d! Thanks for stopping in today! See you soon!
Hi all! Sorry for the long quiet. I was out in Denver for some training. I’m sure you are not surprised that the airlines are having a lot of difficulties. A year ago I moved to a wide body (international) fleet and now I have been moved back to my old airplane. But I am grateful that, through the sacrifice of all the pilots at United, we have held off furloughing. And I do love my Airbus! With that, I’m back to stamping a bit and I’m the sketch hostess this week for Freshly Made Sketches.
I also get to share a sneak peek of a new Erin Lee Creative stamp set called Winter Florals that will be released on October 17th. The flower and the sentiment are both from the set. For the background, I used the Houndstooth Background. I love this background for a holiday card…so just expect to see more of it!
I hope you enjoy my sketch this week. I think it has a bit of a classic vibe and one that is easy for many kinds of cards. The team has created beautiful inspiration as always. It is nice to be back and I’m glad you stopped in today.
Happy Friday to you! I hope this week has been okay for you all. As we all go through this process, I worry for all of my friends. I hope that as we continue to distance as needed that we don’t isolate. I continue to be inspired by things that are a) appropriate for my attention span and b) makable in numbers. With that in mind, I created today’s card as a guest for Trinity Stamps.
I chose a rainbow of Comic markers and just played with color. Amazing how fun it is to create rainbows in all the things! And this hits my attention span time frame with all the school/distraction/inability to focus.
This stamp set is called “So Appreciative” and is from their latest release. It has a matching die and they are fantastic! And really, there is pretty much no one that doesn’t like to hear that they are appreciated! Hop on over to see all the wonderful products they have. They are super sweet and they will the thrilled to see you!
Today I’m sharing a brand new stamp set from Spellbinder’s Whimsical and Wild Collection by Jane Davenport. If you are familiar with the Jane Davenport style of art, it is beautifully textured and rich with color. The Fairytale Fox set became my focus for two cards that are exactly the same and yet totally different.
I stamped the images in Versafine Clair ink onto multimedia paper. I was inspired by Jane’s color palettes and just simply splattered watercolor paints over the paper. I thought it was fun and, well, whimsical.
Using the same setup that I had on my MISTI, I stamped again on a rougher watercolor paper. This time I played with adding more strategic color and then colored the background too. I added some teal, gold and pearl splatters for a bit more detail.
The whole Whimsical and Wild collection can be found at Spellbinders and you’ll want to see all the fun and fantastic images. Thanks for stopping in today. Back tomorrow with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. See you soon!
A quick card today for a message to you all. I wish you joy and healing as we celebrate the Risen King at Easter! Blessings to you all and I look forward to the day where we can gather again. Today is a reminder that we can conquer despair and rise stronger.
This set is the Caring Cross from The Greetery. Beautiful for Easter and religious celebrations year round. Thank you for all you do and share in your kind words to me. More than ever, they mean so much. Stay safe, my friends!
Happy Freshly Made Sketches day! Our wonderful Jacquie has such a clever sketch for us this week (which I kind of followed). I love unique shapes and this is their week to shine.
When I saw the diamond shape, I thought of this stencil. I don’t know why…it is sort of a diamond shape, I guess. But once it was in my head, that was all that was going to be in my head. Does that happen to you? Please tell me I’m not the only one. This is the Scandinavian Stencil from Erin Lee Creative. So pretty! I inked it up using a gradient of smokey blues from Altenew onto Bristol Smooth paper with my Taylored Expressions Blender Brush. I chose a sentiment from the Oh Emm Gee set by Erin Lee Creative. That set is really fun if you read them all!
So glad you stopped in today. Looking forward to seeing all the creative takes on this one during the week. Stay safe and I’ll see you soon.
I just completed a big cleaning of my stamp room and it is time for another de-stash! I have put together mystery boxes packed with a variety of products that are valued at more than twice the price of the box. In each box there are many different brands (Picket Fence Studios, Newton’s Nook, Altenew, WPlus9, Concord & 9th, Lawn Fawn, My Favorite Things, The Ink Road, Winnie and Walter are examples). If I had coordinating dies to match the stamp, they are included. While some of these are gently used (with some staining), there are also brand new and unused sets in each box.
I have three $120 boxes and two $60 boxes. (SOLD!) Priority shipping is already included in the pricing. All products are “as is” and all sales are final. All items are from a smoke free, cat-friendly home. Buyers must pay using PayPal and must be in the US. First come, first served and I will use time stamps. Please email or message me as soon as possible to secure a box (email at jentimko@gmail.com). Specify which price point please. I will send you an invoice for your selected box. You have 24 hours to pay the invoice and I will ship within 3 business days of payment receipt.
Stampin’ Up De-stash
Additionally, I currently have 2 boxes of retired Stampin’ Up products for sale. Each box is loaded with products and is priced at $30. That is an insane discount! I’m hoping that my de-stash is your gain. Each box is a unique compilation of products that I grouped into “families”. (Note: these are the only two I had left, thus the seemingly random numbering)
I have them packaged into USPS Priority Medium Flat Rate boxes so you will pay the $30 plus the flat rate shipping ($14.35). All stamps are “as is”. Many are lightly used or unused. There may be slight staining on one or two per set but that in no way affects the use of the stamps. Punches are in good working order upon being boxed. Ribbons have been used and the rolls included are partial rolls. Extra ribbon may be included that is not pictured. All items are from a smoke free, cat-friendly home.
Buyers must pay using PayPal and must be in the US. First come, first served and I will use email time stamps. Please email me as soon as possible to ensure your choice. I will send you an invoice if you are the first to claim the box. You have 24 hours to pay the invoice and I will ship within 3 business days of payment receipt. Instructions and box inventory listed below each “bundle” picture.

A quick post today (sorry I’m up a little late). I just got back from the most marvelous weekend of stamping and laughing and hanging with crafty friends. It is called Stamping Away and I’ll be sharing more cards I made there over the next few weeks. But now, I’m in “re-entry” phase and catching up.
I used a set from The Greetery to create this and just love this sweet little flower from Summer Sketches. I have loved this company for awhile and had the chance to use their sets last weekend. You’ll be seeing more! The die is from Reverse Confetti and seemed perfect for the sketch.
I hope you like this card and the sketch. I hope your week is going well! Back later this week to share some more of what I made over the weekend. Until then, have a great day!
I’m thrilled to be back today with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches. Our sketch hostess this week is our resident Artisan, Narelle Farrugia. Yep, not even one bit of a surprise to any of us who know her, she has again made the Artisan Design Team for Stampin’ Up and I could not be happier for her or SU. Her sketch this week made me breathe a sigh of relief because I was already set up to go for it from last week. Yeah, I told you I was leaving this background stamp on my Misti!
I do love how this card has a totally different vibe that the one last week with virtually the same elements. I stamped the Holiday Wishes background stamp (Neat and Tangled) onto black card stock using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with WOW Clear Gloss Superfine Embossing Powder. I used the same little greenery elements as last week from the Classic Christmas stamp set.
I first stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black in my Misti, did the quick Copic coloring and then put it back in the Misti, over-stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with WOW Gold Rich Super Fine powder. I stamped the sentiment (from Classic Christmas but meant to coordinate with Holiday Wishes) in Versamark and embossed it with Gold Rich too.
I hope you enjoy this sketch as much as I did! These little vertical panels lend themselves to images, patterned paper and I’m sure other things you’ll think of. Hope you’ll join us for the challenge! Thanks so much for stopping in today. See you soon!
