Ever see a sketch and know that whatever you make with it will be awesome? That is how I felt the minute I saw this one from Freshly Made Sketches. The incredible Linda Callahan created this beauty and the possibilities are endless!
I thought these gorgeous images from the Botanical Garden would be great for the sketch. I stamped them onto Canson Watercolor Paper using Versafine Ink. Then I colored using Winsor and Newton Watercolor Paints. I just got these and was swatching them when I thought I should just break them in and see what happened. I kind of love the possibilities!! Once I was done coloring the images, I cut them out to see how they looked for the sketch. I felt like they needed a little bit of a background so I added a little more color behind them before stamping the sentiment. I love this one!! And it is perfect for my friend that will receive this card.
Our design team has done their always excellent job this week and you will be so inspired. I hope you will have as much fun with this sketch as I did. Thanks so much for stopping in today. See you soon!
Happy July to you!! I hope that you have had a great start to the month. You may have noticed I have been mostly absent over the last week or so. Well, I was! Because I was on vacation! YAY!!! My family and I went to the beach for a week and then added onto the vacation with a trip to downtown Washington DC for a baseball game and the big fireworks on the 4th. The weather was a bit soggy but the game played on and the family had a great time. Even the fireworks managed to go up despite the low ceilings. But now I’m home and getting everything back in order. So I’ll start by being the sketch hostess for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.
I continued to play with my new Colorbox inks, this time in the Spring color palette. I thought it would be fun to pull out the little Daisy stamp from Altenew and do a bit of masking to create this little trio of flowers. Pretty, aren’t they?! The layering of the colors comes from just stamping off the inks in various degrees to create the shades. Super simple way to make sure your colors coordinate perfectly! Speaking of coordinating….aren’t these sequins an awesome match?! I picked out two from Pretty Pink Posh and one from an old Paper Pumpkin. The sentiment is from the Skipping Stones Design set Healing Wings. I cut the stamped layer using my retired Ovals Dies (SU) and then attached it to a White Notecard from SU.
I hope that you enjoy this sketch! The team must have because their samples this week are incredible!! I look forward to seeing you in the gallery too! Now….back to laundry…. And maybe just a bit of stamping too, I hope. Until next time, I hope you have a great day!

Now for my card set! I created a set of 4 cards that I hope you will love. These use the butterfly from Healing Wings and the sentiment from Breathtaking Butterflies. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks on Watercolor Paper to color this amazing image. Once they were colored, I hand cut them to help them pop on the page. I started with blue and green inks combined with a Coastal Cabana base. I had so much fun making it, that I made two. Then I decided I should make a set of four cards and wanted to try another color scheme. So I played around with yellows and oranges and found that the resulting butterfly matched my new Flirty Flamingo card stock. I colored in much the same way and simply added different sequins to match the inks.I love the results on both colors of cards!!
So now we get down to the nitty-gritty! I hope you will consider bidding on this set. Please remember to leave your bid and your email address in the comments of this post to be eligible. You are also most welcome to leave comments without a bid since I always appreciate hearing from you!Supplies:

Yay it is Freshly Made Sketches day!! And the talented Rita Wright is our sketch hostess today. She has given us one that really made me think. So many options!! Took me a bit to figure out which way to go but I finally narrowed it down.
The It’s My Party DSP from SU was my starting place. Love the fun colors. Then I pulled out the Funny Coffee Vol 1 stamp set from Skipping Stones Design. I stamped the cup a few times on the DSP and on Whisper White, then cut them out and pieced them together. Fun, right? The sentiment is perfect….they are actually two sentiments from the set that you can use separately or together. But knowing me, best to just add the second part in. *smile*
Now this is my first post of the day and I have another to follow shortly behind with a fun announcement. See you in a few!
Supplies:
Stamps: Funny Coffee Vol 1 (Skipping Stones Design); Ink: Versafine Onyx Black ; Paper: It’s My Party DSP (SU), Whisper White; Accessories: Dimensionals
Hope your week has been moving along well so far! I finally got into my craft room yesterday (after way too many days away) and got right to work on this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I am the hostess this week and I went with a sketch that leave open space to be filled with whatever you want. I opted for this pretty flower from Altenew.
How is your crafty mojo when you have taken a big break from making stuff? I have to admit that mine seems to be a little slow off the starting block. So I went with my happy place and chose to watercolor. This flower from Botanical Garden (Altenew) is so pretty, don’t you think? I used my Zig Clean Color Pens to color it. The flower was first stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I think it adds an elegant touch. For the little sentiment banner, I pulled out a brand new stamp that I got from Skipping Stones Design called Healing Wings. I’ll be doing more with sets from this company in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned for more on that. I just thought this sentiment was perfect! Actually, I can see me using this sentiment A LOT!!! I added a strip of gold DSP down the side and put the card on a Night of Navy base. You can see the gold a bit better in this flat picture…it really adds a touch of elegance to an otherwise simple design. I hope that you enjoy this sketch. The team has done their usual amazing work and their interpretations are sure to inspire!
