Happy Wednesday! We are up with the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and our lovely Judy is the sketch designer. This one is so clever and I love it.
When I saw the big circle, the first thing that came to mind was this Dahlia XL Stamp by the amazing Marcella Hawley at Power Poppy. Her art always puts me in awe. And her gardening…oh my. Yes, I’m a total fan girl. I was reading my Martha Stewart magazine and saw these and knew I wanted them as inspiration.
My colors fell somewhere in the middle but I’m happy with the peachy hues. Side note, Marcella worked at Martha Stewart for a while. Because she is awesome like that. I tried the sentiment on a circle and it just didn’t work for me so I went with a rectangle and will beg Judy’s forgiveness. To add a little more texture, I used my Torn Strips Stencil (SugarPea Designs) to emboss.
So glad you came to visit today. I hope you are inspired to come over and join our team with the challenge.

Your gorgeous dahlia IS The circle! It’s just stunning. The colors against that textured background are just amazing. Really love this! There is no one that does flowers like Marcella Hawley.
This dahlia is just gorgeous! So much depth, it’s hard to hard to believe it doesn’t have multiple layers.
Simply perfect, Jen! Great color & texture!
Wow! This card is so gorgeous Jen! That Dahlia is amazing! Your colouring is so incredible! Love that embossed background as well!
This flower is stunning and really shines against that beautiful neutral backdrop with just a hint of texture. Gorgeous card!
It is a fabulous flower!! I love the simple background you created for it. (And I agree that the sentiment needed to be a rectangle!)
