Today is my day to share a project on the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog. I had not pulled out these fun little cacti to color in a while and I thought they might be perfect for a post today. So Cuppa Cactus it is!
I colored the image using Copics and tried to use colors that had a bit of a southwest feel to them. I decided that the “sticking by me” sentiment was perfect (from the Cultivated Cacti set). I took a piece of the Wood Textures DSP (SU) and added some splatters of white craft ink then used a doily to ground the cactus. I found this ribbon in my stash that matched the blue perfectly that I thought was a fun extra detail. Finally, I added this sentiment and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I hope you like this fun card today. Thanks so much for stopping in and I’ll see you soon!

I love the background you created and paired with that little cactus – a fun and unique card!!
I’m totally in ove with this card, Jen! The fun image and the pretty doily look fabulous over the woodgrain background.
