Celebrate Autumn by Jen Timko | Autumn Leaves Dies by Newton's Nook Designs, Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs, Jute Twine by Stampin' UpAs we get closer to the holiday season, you will find that schedules get adjusted for design teams and releases.  For me, that means that I get to share another project on the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog! I know I have said it a number of times but my inspiration right now is all around me here in Virginia.  In fact I spent about an hour yesterday raking up the inspiration, haha!

The leaves are a bit more fun when they are cut from paper.  I kept this one pretty clean but I love the simplicity of fall wreaths and the natural elements.  I mimicked the idea of a vine wreath with some leaves by using some jute twine to create a simple one on the card.  I glued down the ends using Mulit Medium Matte Glue and then attached one of the pieces on the opposite side to make sure the wreath kept its shape.

Celebrate Close Up by Jen Timko | Autumn Leaves Dies by Newton's Nook Designs, Happy Little Thoughts Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs, Jute Twine by Stampin' UpYou could totally create your own watercolor designs for the leaves but I cheated a bit.  I seem to have a never-ending stash of designer papers and I pulled out the retired Color Me Autumn DSP and just popped these little leaves out with the Autumn Leaves Dies.  I cut a few extra with some Early Espresso card stock too and used the centers from the leaves of those to add a few “twigs” among the leaves.  Yet again, I leaned on the awesome  Happy Little Thoughts stamp set for the sentiment since I thought this might make a nice fall birthday card.  I realized that I don’t have enough that are masculine and I think this could work well.  I added a little bow with some more jute twine to finish the wreath.  To attach the leaves, I used Mini Dimensionals (cut in half).  These little gems are a time saver for sure.  The bow is attached with the Multi Medium Matte again (in case any leaks out, it becomes invisible when it dries matte).

I’m also linking this in to the Addicted to CAS Challenge #123 : Leaves.  CAS and Leaves….two of my favorite things!!   I hope you enjoy this autumn extra today!  Make sure to stop by the Newton’s Nook Designs blog for daily inspiration!!  See you tomorrow with the latest from Freshly Made Sketches.
