FMS Final 142-001

I am so happy to share this sketch with you today.  The wonderful Jennifer Brum created this one for us at Freshly Made Sketches and I could not be happier to see it.  I was feeling little flat creatively this week.  Does that ever happen to you?  For me, a great sketch seems to kick start me in the right direction and I think this is the one I needed!

FMS142 - Typeset FlowerSo have you seen the Typeset Specialty DSP in the new catalog?  It was at the very top of my “must have” list for papers this year.  And yes, it is just as awesome as I had hoped.  I was going to add in some other colors with it but somehow I liked just the black/vanilla combination as this was coming together.  I stamped on the sentiment from Flower Patch and it looks like it was part of the paper doesn’t it.  Memento Black ink for the stamping.  The flower uses 3 of the Flower Fair Framelits (say that 3 times fast) with different patterns from the paper.  Just a pop of color from a Cherry Cobbler button and I was so happy with this!

Our DT has loads of inspiration for you this week.  Hopefully you’ll have some time to stamp along with us.  Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I appreciate you letting me be a part of your day!

Welcome to our last June Artisan Wednesday Wow hop!  This month has just flown by…much to fast for me!  We are showing all the details of our projects from the Stampin’ Up Facebook June Showcase.  If you just came over from the amazing Jeanna, welcome to the next stop. If you are starting here, just continue around using the next buttons until you get back to me.

Jun FB - Fabulous Gift Box As I approach the end of my tenure on the Artisan Design Team I can’t help but become a little sentimental.  I guess it seems natural that I should use this fun new High Five set to show how I feel about the team and Stampin’ Up as a whole.  Yes…You’re Fabulous!  Yes, you!!  From supporters of our weekly hops to our team’s home office supervisors to the amazing and talented team itself…you are all fabulous in my eyes!!!

To create this box, I use a Kraft Gift Box and stenciled on the circles in Soft Suede.  I actually used a stencil from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit but you could easily use the new Dots & Stripes Decorative Mask too.  I attached a Tea Lace Doily to the top and wrapped around some 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (hot glued underneath the lid to secure it).  Then I started playing with the tag.  Do you see how perfectly the tag and the box match??!!  That new Kraft paper is the perfect go-with on our boxes!  I stamped the dotted oval and cut it out with the Ovals Framelits.  The sentiment is stamped in Lost Lagoon.  For the feathers, I took the vertical stamp from High Five and stamped it in Soft Suede and Lost Lagoon onto Naturals Ivory Card Stock.  I just cut a feather shape from it and added a few snips on the edges to give them a feather feel.  I cut the same shape by hand out of the Champagne Glimmer Paper and added a few cut outs on the edges.  They are attached together using a gold Mini Metallic Clothespin.  Since I could not send one of these to all of you (*smile*), I chose instead to use it to hold a teacher gift.  I created a small note card for my son to sign and added in a gift card.  Perfect for all that she did this year!

Okay, off to go visit the awesome Mercedes Weber. I can’t wait for you to see what she has created! Make sure you hop around the whole loop to take a look at beautiful creations by the whole team…you’ll be happy you did!

FMS Final 141-001

I’m a little late on my post today….sorry about that.  First official day of summer break for the boys and we are getting our swim practice routine down.  The talented and oh so sweet Cindy Hall has a great sketch for you this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Look at all the possibilities!

FMS141 - Fabulous FlowersI went with a flowery, summer take on the sketch.  All the work is done by the new Flowerpot DSP!  This sketch is great for DSP’s, don’t you think?  The prints are the front and back sides of one design so easy enough to keep the pieces the right sizes.  I added on a button tied with new Tangerine Tango Baker’s Twine and added a sentiment from Fabulous Four.

Sorry for the quick post…just trying to get caught up today.  You know how it goes.  The whole team has created a marvelous variety that will get your creativity going.  Hope to see you in the gallery!

Hope your day is awesome.  See you soon!!

Welcome to our third June Artisan Wednesday Wow hop! We are continuing with ideas with products from the new catalog for you this month and are so excited to share! If you just came over from the amazing Jeanna, welcome to the next stop. If you are starting here, just continue around using the next buttons until you get back to me.

AWW Jun - Floral Piercing

For today’s card I really wanted to show off this beautiful new color, Lost Lagoon.  If you have been with me for a while, you know that I loved, seriously loved, the retired color Baja Breeze.  To me, Lost Lagoon is an updated and richer version of that color.  So yeah, I like it a lot.  It is particularly pretty with yellows.  So that was where I started.  A saw a cool tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers for no-line piercing a while ago.  It was stored in my “to-do” list until I got this great Forever Florals stamp.  It is fantastic for the technique!  All you have to do is stamp the image on Watercolor Paper and, using a straight pin (the Piercing Tool makes bigger holes) you follow the lines.  It is best to have your Stampin’ Pierce Mat underneath to protect your surface.  You can follow all the lines or just pick some.  Once I was happy, I just flipped the image over and colored using my Aquapainter with Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey inks.

AWW Jun - Floral Closeup

Here is a close-up to help you see it better.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set after spritzing the inked words with a little water.  The embossed panel was created by first cutting out an oval with the Ovals Framelits, then embossing with the Decorative Dots TIEF.  I distressed a little around the edges with my Distressing Tool.  Now this bow is made possible by the GORGEOUS Stitched Satin Ribbon (this is Hello Honey).  It ties so wonderfully!!

Okay, off to go visit the awesome Mercedes Weber. I can’t wait for you to see what she has created! Make sure you hop around the whole loop to take a look at beautiful creations by the whole team…you’ll be happy you did!

Perfectly Fabulous

Perfectly Fabulous published on No Comments on Perfectly Fabulous

Just a fun, quick post for you today!  I wanted to share with you a card my boys and I made for my husband for Father’s Day.  I told the lads to look through mom’s stamps and pick ones that were perfect for dad….they did awesome!

Perfect Father's DayThey really liked the coffee cup from Perfect Blend.  Then I told them we could decorate it up to look like a “real” one complete with belly band.  Well, that was it.  They started sorting through my DSP’s and we decided that the new Moonlight Paper Stack was the right one.  We stamped three times (on Crumb Cake, the print and Whisper White) and then I cut them out.  Yeah…they snookered me into the cutting by kissing up and saying how much better mine is, lol.  While I was cutting, they chose this sentiment from the new Fabulous Four which really is quite appropriate, don’t you think?  We inked it in Early Espresso and Lost Lagoon and stamped it on a little banner piece.  It was missing something so we added the star clip from Basic Hodgepodge Clips and a button tied with Early Espresso Baker’s Twine.  The background grid print is from the same DSP pack and I love it!  A very “dad” card!

Back tomorrow with the latest Artisan Wednesday Wow!  Hope your weekend was a lovely as mine!  Thanks so much for stopping in and see you soon!

FMS Final 140-001

Fun, fun, fun!!  That is what Freshly Made Sketches has for you this week!  The funny and so talented Linda Callahan has created this sketch with so many possibilities!  The team has already gone wild with it and you will love playing too!

FMS140 - Taffy Hey ThereI took a pretty literal view on the sketch this time.  I saw this fun striped print from Sweet Taffy DSP and just had to use it!  The word bubble from Just Sayin’ seemed like the perfect addition when I was trying to add a sentiment and I like the result.  I stamped it in Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black then cut along the Razzleberry border.  Using my Word Bubbles Framelits, I cut out another matching bubble from Basic Black to give it a frame.  Then I went a little crazy with the Candy Dots (they are such fun) using the Brights colors that are in the DSP.  Wow…two Brights cards in a row.  Must be summer!!  Seasonal Stamper’s Disorder (SSD) always affects me with my color choices, lol!

Now off to see the rest of the team’s handiwork and to get to your stamp room!  Looking forward to seeing what you create this week!

Thanks so much for stopping in.  Like every parent around, I’m caught up in the last week of school madness.  End of soccer season, beginning of swim season, teacher gifts….you get the point.  I hope you find some time to stamp in all of YOUR crazy schedules.  I’m hoping I get some today!

Welcome to our second June Artisan Wednesday Wow hop!  We are continuing with ideas with products from the new catalog for you this month and are so excited to share! AWW Jun - Watercolor Buds

In last week’s hop, I think we can safely say that Hey There Buds was a team favorite.  And for good reason!!  This week, my version of this awesome single stamp!  I decided to go bright with it….or Brights Color Family with it!  Using my Stampin’ Write Markers, I inked up the flower in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  Then I gave it a quick spritz with water and stamped it on Watercolor paper.  To add a little more watercolor look to it, I dripped on a little more water using my Aquapainter.  The sentiment got the same spritzing treatment before I stamped it.  Notice that the sentiment is in a different place that on the single stamp?  Well, I actually cut it off of the flower and mounted it separately.  This gives more flexibility for using both the image and the words.  I mimicked the spots using Gorgeous Grunge on the side of the Melon Mambo base.  A little bit of Old Olive 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to add a final accent!  I’m going to bet you’ll see some more with this stamp again this week…..might as well add it to your shopping list now!

Okay, off to go visit the awesome Mercedes Weber. I can’t wait for you to see what she has created! Make sure you hop around the whole loop to take a look at beautiful creations by the whole team…you’ll be happy you did!

Freshly Made Sketches #139

Freshly Made Sketches #139 published on 9 Comments on Freshly Made Sketches #139

FMS Final 139-001

Look at what Rita has for us this week!!  The gallery last week at Freshly Made Sketches proved that everyone likes tags so she gave us a cool way to use them!!  And thank goodness it is an easy sketch to use because I was completely zapped when I started making my card.

FMS139 - Fabulous GoldI told you all that I was working on projects as a Display Stamper for this year’s annual Stampin’ Up Convention.  Well, I finished the last of the 24 projects on Sunday!  Yay!!  And then I needed to make this.  Well, I can tell you that I had this new stamp set, High Five, sitting on the table from yet another project (that you get to see later this month) and I took the course of least resistance.  The fun textured stamp was perfect for the banner elements.  I stamped in Versamark and embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I stamped the sentiment and some dots from the same stamp and embossed again (on Vellum Card Stock).  The gold paper underneath is from Gold Soiree.  I used an Apothecary Accents framelit to cut the tags and then trimmed off the end to create this shape.  Some sequins to finish and done in record time.  Like 15 minutes record time.

Oh….did I mention the base paper of this card?  Yeah, it is the new Kraft Card Stock.  Can’t even tell you how much I love this paper.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!  You need it.  Nope, not want…NEED!  I used it for many of my display projects and am completely addicted to it.  So add a pack onto your order now!

With that…I hope your day is fabulous.  Make sure you check out the always outstanding work form the design team and I hope you’ll join us this week.  I’m on a trip right now but with any luck I’ll get some free stamping time later this week and have more to share with you next week.  Thanks so much for stopping in!

Welcome to our first June Artisan Wednesday Wow hop!  We have a fabulous sampling from the new catalog for you this month and are so excited to share!  If you just came over from the amazing Jeanna, welcome to the next stop. If you are starting here, just continue around using the next buttons until you get back to me.

AWW Jun - World of Dreams

One of the first sets that caught my eye in the new catalog was World of Dreams.  It is a beautiful silhouette set!  I used the circle stencil from the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit (back for the new catalog) and stamped with the Dictionary stamp on top of it.  Then I inked the flower with Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss (new In Colors).  The sentiment is from Forever Florals and is also inked in Blackberry Bliss.  I stitched around the edges to add just a little more interest and done.  This care makes me so happy.  Isn’t it fun what inspiration you can find in new stamps??!!

Okay, off to go visit the awesome Mercedes Weber. I can’t wait for you to see what she has created! Make sure you hop around the whole loop to take a look at beautiful creations by the whole team…you’ll be happy you did!
