Retiring Ruby

Retiring Ruby published on No Comments on Retiring Ruby

When I first saw that Ruby Red was retiring, I must admit that I was worried.  I mean really, Ruby Red works so well with some of my favorite colors (Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip).  Then I saw that Riding Hood Red was coming back and I started feeling better.  Well, THEN I saw the new Cherry Cobbler and fell in love!  You are going to “need” that red!!!  Just like I have been doing with other retiring colors, I have started using it up.  Yep, I’m committing to it all being gone.  Since I was in a “retiring” mood yesterday, I pulled out some really old stuff to play with.  As I looked around for inspiration, I went over to Stamping 411 and saw this really great sketch:

I needed a birthday card for a friend’s 40th.  His wife threw him a fun party yesterday and he is a very good sport when I enable his wife on all things Stampin’ Up!  I have loved the Wonderful You set for masculine cards since I first got it.  I also had some old kits with tag stuff (I even forget what it is called).  But it had the scalloped rectangles made with the Kraft paper, so I was ready to work on this layout.  Kraft, Chocolate and Ruby….fantastic together for a “man” card!  I made my own little tags but it just shows that I need another punch…LOL.

Now, I shouldn’t tell you because I want the blog candy but the Operators over at Stampin’ 411 are offering some amazing blog candy for your participation in this challenge.  There is a fun game to play over there too, so check it out!

Hope you have a great week.  Thanks for stopping by!
